Mic 1 sounds best. Mic 2 is more convenient and the lower audio quality is worth the trade off. Internal pocket mic is good enough and most convenient, plus you still get the ambient noises of the environment around you. So at the end of the day, there's no wrong choice, just depends what kind of videos you're making. I'd say if you're making videos where you aren't talking to the camera, you don't need either mics. You might even want the sounds of the environment around you, which wont be there on the external mics. Nice test, thanks for this info

yes, yes and yes again! all 3 mics have different pros and cons, it ultimately comes down to what sound u prefer. for me mic 1 defo sounds the best for voices

I prefer mic2! Because it has a noise reduction function, which is very important for people who often need to work outdoors, the sound quality is also very good!

Unless i missed it, you didnt mention the backup recording we can now make on the Pocket 3 after lastvweeks FW Update. Mic 2 got an update too with auto power off and several other features.

as in the original DJI mic (not the one with the pocket 2) … to connect the original one u need to plug in the receiver to the pocket 3 for it to connect

How do you get your mic 2 to record stereo? Mine only does mono. I have to fix it in post.

is this actually the DJI Mic 2? cuz I know with the Oslo Pocket 2 bundle it came with a mic similar to the Dji Mic (just called DJi Wireless) but it wasn’t THE Dji Mic. I’m wondering if this is the same case with the Oslo Pocket 3 bundle

from the tests that I’ve done unfortunately not. when the mic 1 receiver is connected to the pocket 3 and u try to connect the mic 2 to it, it doesn’t find it. BUT u can always record internally on one of them and connect the other direct to it which will be a way to record on both at the same time

I can definitely look into it at some point! but tbh with u a lot of my pocket 3 videos don’t have any major color adjustments done to them, just the odd tweak here and there cos I find it’s so good straight out the camera

It's just amazing that the difference between those mics were large The mic2 sound like talking under water, is that something that can be configured? Or are people buying the creator packs just goin to live with it

yeah the mic 2 really needs some work, hopefully in a future firmware updates the sound will get better 🤞🏾

hi i just got my dji mic and trying to pair with pocket3 and green light does not turn to blue after holding down "rec" button green light keeps flasing? any help? Thanks

to connect it to the pocket 3 just hold down the connect button located above the power button and u should see the blue light flash blue fast and it should then connect

@james.loxton still no luck. no blue light all I see is green light blinks made several attempt. Might return and get a refund*sad* maybe dji mic can't connect wireless maybe only dji mic2 can connect wireless?

omg I’m so sorry, I miss read ur first comment and thought u was asking about the mic 2… yeah unfortunately the original mic (mic 1) can’t connect to the pocket 3 unless the receiver is connected to it

I saw on another channel that the DJI Pocket 3 forces Boca. I noticed in this video also, assuming you are recording on a Pocket 3, that the back ground is a little blurred. Not having control over the aperture would be a deal breaker I think.

yeah ur right, u can’t control the aperture unfortunately so the background blur is a permanent thing which I actually don’t mind but can see how some people won’t want it there all the time

I might, or might not be the only one who thinks its REALLY tiring to watch vlog footage taken with the face track on when the person is walking. The camera just keeps on moving left and right

Not for me.. I find the footage from the pocket 3 to be perfectly watchable. Far more so than a lot of phone footage. Even with a highly skilled camera operator, keeping the talent perfectly framed while moving is near impossible without messing around in post. I think the active track 6 works really well to be honest. I wouldn't use it all the time, but certainly for walking shots, it's a must have!

Mic 2 also doesnt work woth DHI Drone controllers for screen recordings, as I do with Mic 1. It PAIRS. But no audio is transmitted. A shame, since it means carrying MORE gear, not less.

I'm thinking I will use the internal mics as I want all the noise pollution as in cars etc, little concerned about the wind noise though. I find the mic2 to be very low in tone and clarity and not being able to pick up all the surround sounds. I have the Hollyland usbc mics I used on the pocket 2 and that sounds way better for clarity and surround sound.

oh yeah, for ur vids the internal mics will be perfect for all the ambient sounds… ur right tho, the more I listen to the mic 2 the more i don’t like the sound of it
