Thank you so much for the All-in-one tips video. I wish to buy DJI Mic. But I found a lot of content saying DJI Mic has audio sync issues. Have found any issues with DJI Mic?
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
My pleasure! I have heard people say that too but I've never experienced it, I mostly use the audio from the receiver and not the internal recording unless there was a need to do so. I also heard that a firmware update had fixed a sync problem but I can't confirm if that was the case, sorry. I estimate I've made about 50 vids now using the DJI mic and I've never had a sync problem.

If I was using 2 transmitters 1 to record the sound of an engine and 1 for the exhaust would I put them as Mono tracks? thanks
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
You would need to choose stereo if you wanted to edit them separately.
@em18607 ай бұрын
But if you do choose stereo, then you'll want to be sure to convert it to mono in post.

Trying to record an interview with DJI mic 2 and both mics are picking up the other speaker creating an echo. Can I fix this with gain staging or some kind of post processing without having to turn the volume down on both tracks when the speaker isn't speaking. example: mic 1 asks a question mic 2 asks a question but you can hear the speaker from mic 1 at a slight delay.

What is the best way to use the dji mic only as a "recorder" device ? I am mostly too far away from the camera so i want to use the back up recording only. When i do so do i have to set the reciver in to the camera an check my gain levels etc. or has this no impact to the backup recording of the transmitter? So could i leave my reciever at home ? :D, or should i go for a different external recorder? I hope you understand what i mean :D

Very informative video thanks so much, I have one question, if you can indulge my ignorance. How do you reduce clipping if you are not using the receiver and the Mic 2 is blue toothed to the DJI action 4?
@JasonRobertsVideo8 ай бұрын
This tutorial is for DJI Mic not DJI Mic 2 and I don't have an action 4 to test on I'm afraid. You could always use 32-bit float backup internal recording on DJI Mic 2 transmitter to help prevent clipping.

I am getting some sort of interference using LED lights and possibly camera Wi-Fi. It just happened recently and I have a lot of devices in the chain. I connect my tascam X8 to the DJI receiver and I connect a wired road microphone to the transmitter. I did update the DJI Mike yesterday but every video I recorded in the past 2 weeks has been robotic and horrible sounding

WHY DOES the Stereo only record , and Outputs in one Speaker While the MONO setting plays output in 2 Speakers ??
@JasonRobertsVideo11 ай бұрын
Stereo outputs to 2 speakers if you are recording on 2 transmitters - if you are using one transmitter then you will only get it on one speaker.

Hi, i use the dji mic only to capture my exhaust sound, i got a really loud exhaust so i already tried to put the receiver gain and transmitter gain on -12, but i still get very bad audio with microphone volume on +12, will putting the mic volume on -12 solve this problem? looking forward to your feedback, would really apreciate it thanks!! love the vid!!
@JasonRobertsVideo9 ай бұрын
Even with -12 if a sound is way too loud it might overload the microphone built into the transmitter so -12 won't help if that is happening. Try moving the mic further away from the exhaust and also -12

If they were sitting near each other then each mic is probably picking up a bit of the other person talking

How good does this mic pick up audio from people you're talking to in an interaction outdoors? That's all I'm looking for and can't find anything
@JasonRobertsVideo2 ай бұрын
Because the mic is an omnidirectional, if both people are close enough to the mic and about the same distance it should work fine - but you won't be able to edit each persons voice separately. Also if it's windy make sure you try and shield the mic from wind and also use the wind muff. Hope that helps :) :)
@FlexYourFreedoms2 ай бұрын
@JasonRobertsVideo I just bought it. I've tried everything. I try and do more covert style of recording, so using a big shotgun mic is a turn off. My problem is always the wind, or not being able to pick up someone talking 10ft away. I guess I can return it if it sucks
@JasonRobertsVideo2 ай бұрын
Yeah the wind muff can help with wind noise but this mic is not meant for recording isolated sounds far away

How should i use the two transmitters if i am doing ASMR for massage, one mic on each arm - Should they be in stereo?
@JasonRobertsVideo Жыл бұрын
WOW! that is a question I never thought I'd get!!! haha Good question though. Stereo mode will give you the ability to mix each "arm's audio" separately when you edit your video if that's what you want. I would do some tests before recording your first real ASMR massage recording.

What are some good db numbers to always have the transmitter and receiver on?

There is no one "right" setting it depends on a number of things like how loud people are talking etc. I have my receiver gain at +6 on a Sony a7S III

why is my audio full or random high pitch crackling sounds? its plugged into my Digital SRL. i was in a static car and had the mic a few -db on the gain settings
@JasonRobertsVideo11 ай бұрын
Don't know - do you get the same noise if you use the internal recording on a transmitter? If not then it might be RF interference or possibly a fault audio cable from the receiver to the camera. If the internal audio files are also crackling then you may want to contact DJI support.

Jason I have been watching some of your videos relating to DJI mics. I know you have a deep knowledge on this, but I also know you are not a DJI technician. I have had one for a year it went back for a receiver issue then return after 5 weeks. ThT aside I have a particular issue with the unit now and after 6 weeks of messages long winded delays with DJI I still cannot get this resolved. I wonder if and fully understand if not, would it be possible for you and I to have a tele phone call or better still a messenger or WhatsApp video call and see if I have set something wrong or if DJI need to stop the flimflam and take the unit back in. Something they seem reluctant to do at this time. Kindest best wishes Paul Paul apps

I have that problem too but it only happens to me sometimes most of the time the camera picks up the audio but other times it dosen't. I always have the audio to be saved into the mic it self but it takes so much time to drag the audio from the mic and replace the audio while editing the video it's so frustrating when that happens.
