DJI Mic review | No audio on your mobile, fixed!

After some amazing reviews of the DJI Mic I went and bought one. Unfortunately I struggled for hours getting no audio on my recordings! Very frustrating. Luckily I found a solution or two.

Also, you can't hear your audio until you unplug the dang thing. Otherwise , your phone thinks the mic is a headphone!? Took me all morning to figure that out. Wonder what the work around is, because that really slows down the quick checks of levels and such.

To be honest the device is a bit of a nightmare. Probably should have just returned it. I rarely use it for what I do. Just wanted to get it to work having bought it. The other question you ought have fixed if the background noise is loud say a train or plane I'm no sure how to adjust it so I can be heard.

Solution 2 is incorrect. In order for the phone to receive audio, the phone adapter needs to be pushed all the way in to the reciever so the 4 pins connect. If the adapter sticks out slightly the 4 pins won't make a proper connection, and therefore no audio on the phone. On the plus side, seeing this video made me realise what I was doing wrong, so thanks. :)

Interesting, I'll check mine again but it only works when slightly out. Perhaps I should send it back and try another 🤔 Glad it helped though 👍

My Kurosaki Goods Lavalier mic set was $22 and works via blutooth. It sounds better than my DJI mic 1. I'm extremely disappointed. The receiver on the Kurosaki is tiny too, and doesn't take up much space whatsoever. For 22$ you can't beat it guys. Try it out. I think I'm gonna send this DJI back, it's just too cumbersome and the sound is NOT good.

Hey! I've tried pressing the red button before and after starting to film on the blackmagic cam app on my iphone (selected DJI as the audio source), but neither works... Help? Thanks!!

It's a very good question. Unfortunately I use it on android. Did you press the record and un mute button? Made the mistake myself...

It's understandable. We live in a world where things should just work. I admit I was kicking myself for quite some time. Lost footage myself because of it 😒

@@Syberby might be worth sending for another. It includes an Android connection so I'm surprised by that. Sadly many are having issues with it.

@@liftoffandtravel I have found solution. I have downloaded Open camera app from Google Play and in settings of this app I set external microphone as default and it works! Unfortunately default camera of my phone does not have such options in settings
