This is the BEST VIDEO I've seen, definitely FIVE STARS + First, you are not trying to sell something or lead us to buy a product. Instead, you show us to trust in our drones and to gain confidence by doing what you did, The way I see it, these are drills to help drone pilots achieve that. Not everyone has the skills to be a good communicator, much less to teach a skill, but you do. Know that the time and effort you put on this video is much appreciated. Thank you!

Still quite new to drone flying, I wish I had seen this video a couple of weeks ago, I was feeling quite pleased with myself with my general piloting, and setting the auto circling around object like a church in the country, I went into the city (result is on my channel) but one thing that didn't make the cut was after this and the RC not connected error came, and I'll admit I panicked, desperately pushing things without knowing the 50m back and RTH would kick in, I felt relieved when I regained connection and brought it back manually. (isn't it ironic that I haven't trusted the automatic system as much as I should) But your video has instilled me with new confidence and my future flights will be better as a result. Many thanks for your time. Appreciation from over the pond again.

I bought a Mini 2 after I got my original Mini stuck up in a tree about 100' off the ground. I used to have issues with the first Mini losing the signal when I flew close to home but I never had that problem with the Mini 2. The signal is solid, shoots 4K and seems to have better wind resistance. It's a keeper, well worth the extra money for the improvements.

Fantastic video, thank you! I bought my mini 2 only last week and I’m nervous about losing it. Now I know that if the controller switches off, I lose signal or the drone has low battery - it’ll fly home. THANK YOU! Oh, and selecting a new home point was a great reminder!

Well done video! I never had a drone before yesterday and I flew my Mini 2 for the first time today and had a great time. I never used joysticks or even played video games before. This drone is easy to learn and fly well. I flew it until the RTH sirens went off and it came back and landed about 6 feet from takeoff. It is a remarkable drone with great features for a beginner. I wish it had "follow me" and "obstacle avoidance" but I'll become a better pilot because of it. Thanks again for teaching me a little more about my drone.

Great deep dive in to RTH Marcus! Understanding the RTH scenarios and how they work, I think, is crucial for any drone pilot. I feel that being able to increase altitude during a low-battery forced landing is dependant on current altitude, although I haven't tested it like you demonstrated. I had a forced landing back in December of 2020 and it would not allow me to increase altitude. I could only steer or descend, which was good enough to ensure a safe landing in an open spot. So it is a VERY good thing to know for emergency situations, so thanks again for taking the time to demonstrate it. Cheers!
@IdahoQuadcopter3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Steve. I agree, many pilots don't give RTH a second thought, and it is important to understand what your drone will do in different circumstances. I suspect you're correct, the only reason I was able to ascend with the drone was because I was at a very low altitude. Thank you for sharing your experience.

A truer test of the first RTH is not having the original home point the same as where you are standing. That is, you are telling it to return to where the controller is, but that is also where it started. To get a new home away from the original start point, you should have landed it out in the field and when you do that and then take off again, it will make that its new "home". THEN you can tell it to return to the controller location. Now you have a true sense of testing the RTH at controller location. Good stuff and great explanation on your part of all the functions. Thanks.

Pretty cool. I just got into drones a week ago or so and just stumbled upon your awesome channel! Even better I live about 2 miles from the park you're at. :) Subscribed! Thanks!!!

Nice vid Marcus. You covered all the salient points. And, you are so correct, if you are any decent distance away, it is so important to confirm the RTH warning. It will save you a lot of the pucker factor if you wait too long to RTH❗❗❗ Woah!, that was a tight little dronie at the end there, but you did manage to miss those trees👍👍

Thank you Doug. As for that last dronie, honestly the Mini makes it easy. 👍

@@IdahoQuadcopter I’m glad you never had any issues with yours. I had to return my Mini2 twice back to Bestbuy. Kept having these color splats on my phone screen after a few mins of flight. I think I raised this up to u before. I did bought another Mini 2 (This time straight from DJI). Don’t know what to do to fix anymore. I’ve tried all settings, changed to best SD card. Flew different time of days. The weather been great in Northern Cali. Did mentioned to DJI with snapshot of phone screen.
