This budget drone is much more impressive than the Potestic Atom you tested recently. The DJI Mini 2SE had a strong signal connection and a strait horizon, things that I value in all drones, including budget models. Great tutorial Marcus, and thanks for sharing. Happy New Year.

Just bought the DJI Mini 2SE yesterday and can't wait to get it! Loved this video and your other video on the same drone! Have a couple 'old school' drones from a number of years ago - so much more available now! Loved how you demonstrated the different functions of this drone. I've watched many videos on this drone and only yours and one other that I've seen showed the RTH function - thanks. By my estimation your take off to landing flight time was 19:22, which isn't too bad for all the things you did, the distance you went, and the fact that about half the time you were in Sport mode - I'm assuming it uses more battery... Excellent video! A feature I love about this drone is how stable it is in wind - I believe it was your other video where there was a decent wind (could be seen when your clothes were moving in the wind), and the drone was so stable! Btw - only three times I got nervous: 1) flying over the birds - hoping they didn't take off and spoil your day; 2) flying that far away - so cool to see the capabilities of the drone going distance; and 3) RTH - was nervous it was going to land on the roof where you were sitting. This 2SE was my first drone back in the spring (this year). Soon after, I picked up the M3P for the "obvious" features. However, I often grab this little drone and am still so amazed at the 2.7K video quality. I save the M3P for early, late day and night flights but love the 2SE in the daytime where I don't have to be concerned with obstacle avoidance. Thanks for the "refresher" video and for sharing!

I have the regular mini 2 which I bought used for an absolute steal with all the extras. While it doesn't have all the sensors and obstacle avoidance, it's a great learning drone because you have to actually fly it. The camera is amazing. Have taken it to the coast and I'm always looking for new remote places to go as I get tired of flying in crowded areas.

For the price, I think the Mini 2 SE is really good. At first, I wanted to buy something better, like the Mini 3 and Mini 4, but after comparing the differences between all those drones as well as the difference in price, I came to the conclusion that the more expensive models for the most part have a better camera and more settings and options for it, while the rest is almost the same. Since I really don't care that much about the 4K camera and it's settings and options, the Mini 2 is my choice.

Landing gear and prop guards only add more weight in my opinion. You'll be good to go with your Mini 2 SE as is. Have fun!

Just picked up a mini se 2 and your video is right on time. Personally I like the longer video format for the thoroughness. Good job Marcus. Useless 'Gull' Facts: (Ornithologically speaking "Gull" would be the more accurate term) There are a handful of different 'Gulls' out there, several of which never even see the sea, but the 'Herring Gull' would be your quintessential "Seagull", and while they prefer coastal locations, even they can be found far inland. As it turns out things are just much easier around us humans. The food is more abundant, it's generally warmer and there are far fewer predators running around which is too invitining for most Gulls. Not to mention Idaho has some pretty big bodies of water, not an ocean, of course, but Lake Pend Oreille comes to mind. I think it's the largest at 40 or so miles??

Hello, I have a new Mini 2SE from xmas. The weather has been tough, so I haven't been able to use it much. Today was better so I took it up. Not too far from my home I received the message " weak signal - please adjust antenna." I had no clue, lost control for a moment then it was intermittent as I brought it back. Sounds like this is a widespread issue and I'm not very happy about. Has it happened to you? Any sure fire resolution before I give DJI support a piece of my mind? Thanks

I record to a micro SD card on the drone. You can cache lower res video to your mobile device if you wish. Or you can transfer the full res version to your mobile via the app.

You have to stop recording before you initiate any of the automated flight modes. The drone then records them automatically.

Love your channel, very informative. I lost my drone (dji mini se) while flying over the wetland on the Chesapeake bay. I did not know that military aircraft will jam your gps signal. Just a f.y.i. The plane was several miles away and i was flying in a unrestricted air space. I was doing everything right. It was in the rth mode, then all video stopped, lost signal and have looked for the drone but it is gone. Just wanted my fellow dronies to know about passing military aircraft. We are in a busy jetway here and do have alot military aircraft flying by.😢

I think it's 12 or 13. Wait until the drone says that the home point is locked.

Hello, can you add celcius when you says the temperature in your area? In my country we use metric system and I don't know how hot or cold is that but its okay no need to add that,thank you for using meters as your distance and speed though. Good video as always. Stay safe and Happy New Year 🎉

Marcus, When you're flying over traffic and neighborhoods like this, do you have to get a waiver for flying over people? Or is incidental flyover okay with the FAA part 107 certificate?
