These DJI drones are great. They're a whole lot of fun even for a 62yo man like myself. The first time I flew it I thought I was going to have a heart attack it was so much fun. It really did freek me out the first time I flew but I put faith in the Tec and so far I haven't been disappointed. With all the safety sensors it's got you probably couldn't crash unless you did it on purpose and nobody would do that. Im loving mine 🏴‍☠️🚁🇳🇿

Great handling despite the situation and unpreparedness.. 1. How is the drone at all? 2. In hindsight I'd suggest flying over least populated areas as soon as you see adverse weather conditions like rain rather than going in a straight line back home - rain could've caused a malfunction with the drone falling from the sky.. you definitely don't want to damage someone's property or worse hurt someone 3. I think you had plenty of battery the whole time, I would've pushed in S mode from the beginning... If I remember correctly you're in FCC and with the plus battery right? 4. Are you sticking the drone in a bowl of rice :)

Hi friend, thanks for comment. 1.the drone broke several propellers but it is fine. 2. Almost at the end is where there are several houses, but almost the entire route is grass and empty land. 3. in a strong wind putting it in s mode is not recommended, the battery runs out very quickly and then you have to maneuver you will get more in trouble. 4. I have been caught in the rain with the Mini 3 Pro once and it did make it back even though it was very wet and windy. Sometimes those showers come up on you quickly even when they don't show on radar like mine. It only takes a short time and you're in a light rain before you even know it. Thanks for sharing.

exactly it said that it was just a very windy day and it ended up raining the radars are sometimes not accurate who lives in the caribbean knows that the radar says one thing and another happens

good test I went over 1800 meters away on my mini 3 pro today the signal was better than the mini 2 I had before still 50% battery left when got back and a bit breezy to did not want to risk mine.

That was quite an exciting flight. In the USA we use feet/miles, so more than 3 miles (one way, with good signal and plenty of battery) which is absolutely phenomenal especially at that altitude. Looks like the drone was flying directly into very strong wind considering the severe drop in speed in sport mode. I’m glad it didn’t sustain more damage than broken props.

Operator error that crashed the drone. It might have helped if you didn't put it into Sport mode, or at least, took it out of Sport mode when you approached the shore. A good lesson to, at least, try to keep the rain off the RC controller. Maybe, next time, if you can't keep the controller screen dry, to at least, keep a soft dry cloth handy to wipe the rain off when coming in for a landing? You keep making the mistake of taking off with the wind blowing away from you, & then, returning into or against the wind on the way back!

why you don't come back in sports mode. I still think you should flight in sport mode. you need the power to fight the wind. it drain faster but you come back faster.

In the videos that I make, you see that I have a good signal. but the reality is that sometimes I spend 2 or 3 days flying in different places and the signal does not work well and when it works in one place. then i make the video. after flying. 1 month with the mini 3 I tell you that the mini 3 does not work much in urban areas, look for open places. Like a plane that does not have interference, the mini 3 is good in those spaces, that's why I fly a lot in the sea.

That's what a couple of people told me. but the wind was too much and putting it in sport mode would wear out the battery very quickly and in an emergency without battery it can be a disaster. but thanks for the advice I really appreciate it

Did DJI ask you to test this Drone for it extreme flying Limits , or were you just surprised when you did it yourself ,believing the range has nothing to do with weather conditions? You fly 5,500 metres and can't believe you crashed it ...again? Man , whoever taught you to fly needs to have their licence revoked. That's well beyond what an MP3 mini should fly ,and common sense tells you wind will be a factor BVLOS and even EVLOS. 🙄 The UAV is extremely light and vulnerable to wind and rain. Did you even check the live weather and wind radars? SMH
