Thanks Tommy - that's very nice to hear. Good luck with the flight and don't worry if it doesn't work out the first time - the fun is in trying it again and again (and again). Oh and I can't change my style - As a Brit it's the law that if we make KZbin Drone Videos, we have to either be very dry, serious and authoritative or just flippant, scant on detail and incredibly self deprecating - obviously the former wasn't for me.... 🤣 Fly safe! 🖖

@@amoktimeflies I just tried my first hyperlapse last night using hyperlapse waypoints. I did 3 as you did, and one thing I noticed when looking at my RC screen, was that during my second one the height was about 9 feet lower than the other two for some reason. I could tell as the sun was setting the wind at around 400 feet was getting a bit stronger, but I wouldn't think that should affect my height. Also, I was wondering while watching your video why you set two waypoints instead of just one at the position you wanted. In any event I had fun giving it a first try.
@amoktimeflies5 ай бұрын
I set two waypoints basically in the same place so I could 'run' the waypoint mission and 'hopefully' end up in exactly the same place. There does appear to be a bit of an issue with waypoints sometimes that even if you do start from exactly the same take off point they can differ. The wind probably didn't help, but hopefully you were still able to do some 'matching'. It's unlikely to be perfect, but as you say - it's still fun trying 🤗🖖

@@sideshowbobsfanclub - interesting with this is, I’ve never have been found of flying RC areoplane, mostly the opposite - one of my best friends is addicted to RC and have been that for 20 years - my intrest lays on the camera, not the specific droneflying (although it became fun too after a few days!)… So, a drone for me is like a descent camera with propellers! Longing for a Mavic Pro 3 Cine now, but, 5000 bucks is a little hefty, and my wife wouldn’t be that happy (a chilly relationship for some month 😂😂😂)… Were are you living? UK or AUS?

By the time the Neo 2 or 3 arrive, it should be a really fun drone.

Thank you for this guide. You’re always learning something new, and this is particularly interesting for me because I create a lot of hyperlapses and have developed my own editing workflow in a self-taught way. I now use RAW files and crop in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Otherwise, DJI crops out quite a bit, and it no longer matches what I saw and selected in the RC. I have to process the RAWs in a batch; otherwise, it would take me days. It gets even more complicated when I experiment with accessories again, and each individual hyperlapse image has to be additionally de-squeezed. This is because I sometimes use an anamorphic lens.
@amoktimeflies2 ай бұрын
Yep - there's alot that can be done - from the simple to the RAW individual processing - endless ways to experiment! 👍🖖

Ah! - just realised - There isn't actually a choice of shooting modes because technically you're just taking lots and lots of photos and then the drone stiches them together to make the hyperlapse. The options you *do* have are either jpeg or raw for the photos that are used. Whilst jpeg uses smaller file sizes I would normally use raw (if I remember to!) because it uses 48mp in the photos, so if I do have to zoom in in post very little detail is lost, which can be an issue with the 12mp jpeg files. Thanks for making me think! 🤔😂🍻👍🖖

@amoktimeflies6 ай бұрын
No worries bud - I've got you covered! It's probably simpler to create a way point hyperlapse with 2 points that are basically in the same place. That way you can also save that to repeat several times. If you DO use the waypoints method as shown you just need to exit that waypoints mission *then* set up your hyperlapse. The waypoints mission is purely there to 'mark the spot' that you were in before. Hope that helps and sorry for any confusion! 🖖

Hi there, it's probably a silly question, but here goes. I watched this video and thought I'd give it a go. So, you end up with three folders of hyperlapse videos, which all have the same name. So, when I try to put them into DaVinci, it won't let me do this. Can you help me, please?
@amoktimeflies5 ай бұрын
Hi Clive - Don't worry - I know exactly what you you're talking about and it confused me when I first did hyperlapses too! The 'HYPERLAPSE' folder actually (and confusingly!) just contains each individual photo the drone takes for each hyperlapse. You just need to check your DCIM folder and you should find the finished hyperlpases in there - you will probably have .lrf files, (Low Resolution Files) created for reviewing on the Remote - the files you want to download and then bring in to Davinci are the .mp4 files (you can delete the .lrf files). Note - you *can* use these for building the hyperlapse manually in DR, but that's slightly advanced stuff that I haven't got a handle on yet, and need to spend some time on before I make a vid about it. That should have you sorted (and you've also anticipated a tip I'm going to be including in a vid that's in production at the moment! 😂). If you do have any other issues though or the above isn't clear feel free email me through the channel and I'll be happy to provide further help with screenshots etc... 🖖

@amoktimeflies6 ай бұрын
Hey Clifford - thanks for watching… So - take off, click on the waypoints icon on the left of the screen, and then where the waypoint stuff comes up at the bottom of the screen, click on the 3 dots then the piece of paper icon. Select the last waypoint mission in the screen that comes up, then hit ‘go’. Once the drone has reached position exit out of waypoints by clicking on the waypoints icon again at the left side of the screen. Then set up your hyperlapse. Alternatively you can just use the waypoints option within the hyperlapse function which to be honest is probably the simpler way to do it! 🖖
