3.35 miles very impressive. Where I live there's too many hills to try to do this test . 1000mt = 0.62 miles. 0.62x5407 = 3.3 miles you were under estimating the flight distance. I grew up in the UK using imperial measurements and then because of the bloody EU we had to start using Metric so for me to understand how far something is or how heavy something is I have to keep converting to imperial. Life's hard!!!

Be careful when you get the extended battery. I’ve seen other range tests where the signal strength is weaker on the return trip. The antenna on the drone seems to be in the rear so if you’re down to 1 or 2 bars on the way out you may lose connection when you start your return.

Impressive! My dji mini 4 pro did not go that far. The furthest my drone went was a little over 1500 meters due to the blockage of buildings and trees because I was flying it in the city. I had not tried to fly in the open area like you did. I'm sure my drone can do the same if I fly it in the open area. Thank you for sharing!

Always check prevailing wind direction when distance checking…if wind is at your back when launching forward, could limit the return trip. Nice video!

One of these days I'll upgrade to a 4 pro. I have a mini 3 and have achieved a little over 3.5 miles before my nerves got to me. 7 mile round flight is pretty good.

I flew mine out on a test recently over open country. I flew out at 150 ft to 200 ft on standard battery. I reached the small town 4 1/2 miles away. Able to fly around there just over one minute when drone said it needed to return home and turned around and RTH. It climbed to abt 300 ft and flew straight back. It landed perfectly on the pad with six minutes left on battery. Very impressive. I'll admit that I was more than a bit worried.

3 to 2 miles, around there? Unusual counting system you are deploying there! Because these flights, with proper conditions, conditions have made range almost completely dependent upon battery, why fly a range test with the standard battery? Dustin Dunnill won't be losing sleep, worrying about the new Range King, lol He flew a standard Mavic 3 with an RC-N1 controller back on Maui a distance of 14,564.56 meters. That's 9.05 miles, but who is counting!

Can anyone tell me how much trees interfere with signal. Is the remote the original that comes with the drone? Also the camera signal, is it more effected by trees? I live in a heavily wooded area and I have lost one drone to the wind and had a much nicer drone just flip over and go down, losing my gimbal to damage and my OAC to just gone. I want to upgrade but don’t want to waste money. Ty

Yes, trees definitely do affect the signal. I also live in a heavily wooded area in the Sierra foothills, and i get signal loss on my DJI Mini 4 Pro around 3,000 feet, depending on the terrain. Then I flew up to a mountaintop at just over a mile away before getting signal loss and the drone did an RTH. I was still down among the tall trees at the time. While on a mountaintop, still in the tall trees, I was able to get a little over 2 miles before losing signal. So, if you can get away from the trees, you can fly much farther. Hope this helps.

i dont understand this, i got a mini 2 se and ive seen people get up to 5km easily and i cant go past 200m and at about 150 the bars go yellow and i just randomly lose connection, I fly in the uk but still this range is outrageous. Can anyone help me on this?

i think because in the uk it’s limited quite a lot and you have to turn on fcc mode which there’s tutorials on youtube that guide you on how to do it

You can set the C1 or C2 button to put it into cruise control, once pressed it will carry on at the speed you are currently doing.

I think the dji's are not that good. you can't even record over 3 and a half mins in 4k. plus my autel blows my air 3 out of the game when it comes to distance where there is trees or buildings. the battery is the only thing any good, even the controller is hard to see in the sun light. plus the geo fencing. much better out there for the same price range.
