Do you need to keep it where you can see it? Obviously you wont be able to see it when its a mile away but im always scared to fly even a few 100m away from my house 😳

Since it’s under 250 grams, the drone doesn’t have to be registered. It’s considered just a toy! I use to be fearful flying 100m away also. Just remember the RTH function.

Remember that sports mode with full throttle will drain the battery a lot faster than in normal.. You could go to the same distance using a lot less battery in normal mode. To going the more distant you can, raising the height by the minimum necessary to increase the signal strength again, and use only the normal mode.

Yeah I more or less panicked! This was the first time that I’ve flown this far. I could have gone even further as the signal wasn’t breaking up yet.

Will signal slowly degrade? So far ive only got the nerve to fly a block or two in any direction from my house. I've ruined myself with cheap drones ive had in the past, and i keep getting nervous that the signal will just drop to 0

This is wild for me, I got my 4k this christmas, my prezzy for me, first flight went well but 2nd flight some freakin bird of prey was stalking my drone, had to bring it down quick, i feel like im to worried to fly now, weathers been shit but i will go again, gunna get some bright decals i think to help deter them

Birds are my biggest fear! I look at this drone that it’s expendable. It’s low enough in cost that I can take risks like this in exchange for a lot of views.

What would happen if you pass the point that's too far? Isn't there a chance it's a couple miles away and then you just lose control and it eventually loses power and crashes

@@scottschabel7372 It has an auto return to home feature, so it will simply return to the point where you took off from. However, if the battery is low, it will also return to that location. The farther you go, the lower the battery percentage will be. For instance, if I fly out at 11,000 feet with 99% battery, it will set itself to return at approximately 60%. I’m not sure of the exact number, but it’s something like that to ensure you won’t lose it if you’re flying back at 20% battery and there’s not enough power to make it back. However, if I fly out at 2,000 feet with 99% battery, it will set itself to return at around 20% or so.

Clear line of sight is like when you are at the top of a hill or mountain. And there are no trees or terrain blocking your view. I was on a slight slope but had trees in my way.

had my first few flights the weekend (first time drone flier with dji) and boy i was amazed by its performance, decent wind and it was so stable. didn't go further flight coz i haven't activated my dji care yet but now that i do i bet i will be testing mine further away without hesitation. thanks for the vid.

I have the Mini 4k as well and for some reason I lose connection to my drone and remote after flying a bit away but nearly as far as you take yours. I live in a city area lots of houses and buildings

I had the same problem for a while but it went away. It was quite scary! Just remember that the RTH button on the controller will still work without being connected to your phone.

Not a thing! It’s rated for 6 miles (clear line of sight). I might have had a small advantage of being at a small elevation.

i'm afraid of sending my mini 4k BVLOS because there are so many birds in my area cuz I live next to a huge river and also parts of my area have really bad connectivity, like 2-3 satellites only, i've already crashed my mini 4k because of that. It dropped from the 7th floor of my apartment building after hitting the railing on my balcony broke 2 arms but i was really impressed the frame as a whole withstood the fall.

@@AnnalisasAwesomeAdventures just for future reference. If you have a few songs in mind that your really into and are popular or classics, you can likely find someone covering it and use that. Most of the time, the instrumentals sound good, even if the vocals are shotty. What I do is, find something I like on KZbin and then goto copy. You copy the link and then goto your internet browser and type, convert KZbin to MP3. There you paste the video that you copied and it will download you a free MP3 for your Itunes. You then edit that into your drone video. Imovie for example is a place you can do it. I do that with actual bands and have never gotten any warnings or crap for it. Not all sites work with the KZbin to Mp3 conversion though. You have to keep pasting until you find one and then bookmark it so you always have it 😉

I've been flying my trusted Macic 2 Pro for 5 years, producing beautiful, cinematic videos. Then I upload them to an appreciative gang of followers on my KZbin channel. Due to European regulations, I decided I needed to downsize my drone, but I still wanted to produce 4K videos. So, I bought the DJI Mini 4K, believing it could deliver nice enough footage for me to then edit into shape. BOY, was I mistaken. This drone is a piece of horse doodoo compared to the Mavic 2 Pro. 400$ down the drain.

there are some cost savings over the Mini2.. the RC has half the battery capacity over the Mini 2's RC I had in the past... However There is still much more power in the RC than you would need if you used up three batteries flying the drone. I regretted selling the Mini 2 and this was a cheaper way to get back in for £199 in UK last month and no material difference to me. I decided to order a second battery (never used more than 2 at a time with the Mini 2 combo) and still saved over £65 on the 4K combo. Horses for courses
