I bought one like 3 weeks ago, I've been hand launching out my window (its -3) stick my hand out and grab it, flip it upside down to stop the blades. it's been nice in the winter. you don't need to worry about going home asap, I brought mine back on 5% and it said 0% as it was landing. its durable don't worry

I bought this for videoing disc golf courses. I think the key is knowing what you need it for and what will and will not be helpful. I fly around a lot of trees so the object sensors would probably be more of hindrance which is why i went with the mini 4k. It's also pretty durable. I have hit a few trees, i know ironic, already and it still flies great.

1:27 I'm in Canada, and I have been flying a DJI Mini 2 and a Mini 4 pro for a couple years. You do not have to register a drone that weighs less than 250 grams here. And you do not need any type of license or certification. There are a few simple regulations you have to follow, but that is all.

@ I get what you are pointing to. You still don’t need a license to fly a micro drone here. Nor do you have to register. This is more about restricted areas which we have had pretty much since drone rules have come into play here. Either way the Mini 4k is a great entry point if the Mini 3 is over one’s budget.

I am gonna buy one soon. I got the Specta Mini 4k (same drone) but I want to be able to use DJI branded batteries, which the Specta wont. I only bought the Specta because DJI Geofencing is STUPID, but they just took Geofencing off their drones. Awesome drone(s)!

Depends on the mode. In sports mode it only lasts about 10 minutes. In cinematic mode about 20. I have three batteries, so not a big deal.

I was weighing between the 4k mini and the 4k pro, decided to go with the 4k pro due to its ability the work with my RC2 controller where the 4k mini is not supported, I find the need to use your phone with your controller to be cumbersome . Also keep in mind there is no Tax as well as free shipping when ordering straight from the Dji website so that in itself saves a considerable amount . My turn around time was just under a week for delivery with a free year of replacement coverage to boot...

FYI Canada drone law changes do not impact the already fairly restriction free laws for flying what we term as “micro-drones” ie under 250k. The bulk of the changes impact the professional sectors where much larger drones are in use, with notable inclusion of extended visible line of sight for drone package delivery, and such. The choice between the Mini 4k and the Mini 3 is a tough one. Another $80 CAD for a bigger and better camera is a compelling option. Nonetheless the Mini 4k is an outstanding entry level / beginner option without a doubt.

So when the drone goes into return to home it will go up so that it can avoid all trees and building first then it will start moving forward but there is a setting to change how high it will go out of the box it’s set to go up to around 400 feet so that it’s all clear

I think the default height for return to home is 30 meters if I recall, so that should avoid most trees, but around here I had to set it higher to be safe.

What I said was true. If I could go back I would order the DJI 3 mini from their store on EBAY. You get all the same benefits. There are landing gear for the DJI for water, but I wouldn't do it. I don't know anything about specific water drones. Let me know if you find out.

You should look up the MAS blades for the mini 2 SE or the mini 4k, they ought to be 2 decibel less noisy, while also giving a very very slight increase in flight time.

Your view on Canada is not correct! Dji mini does not a pilot license. The rules are way more lax in Canada. The mini does not even need to be registered. Any thing larger one must register then take a beginner drone test. But is not that complex

you have to pay an excess to replace/repair the drone and the mini 4k is SO cheap, it's almost a waste of money insuring it.

I hate to be "that guy" but I think you should know that if your YT channel is monitized and you use drone video, you need to have a Part 107 license to be compliant, even with a drone under 250g. It's not difficult to pass but you will need to study prior to taking the test. Plus, there is valuable information about what is and isn't legal when flying, one of which I believe you violated unless someone else was piloting. Be safe and have fun!
