Hi David, are you happy with the controller, I'm.thinkimgnof getting a drone and not sure which one to get. Thanks you, and a great video
@DavidLudlowPhotography12 күн бұрын
@ As my first ever controller that obviously came with this drone I am finding it easy to use and get used to. I would probably like one with a built in screen so it’s less time to set up, however I’ve got no complaints, although I think I will make some kind of sun shade as I find it difficult to see the screen in the bright sun. Regards David 😀📷👍

Sir, I was exactly in your position when I first got my drone a few months ago. My biggest problem was trusting the technology and every time I flew my drone up I would start shaking and dreading the possibility of not getting my drone back safe. That feeling goes away a little bit with each time you fly. You are doing a great job, love the images and keep at it.

Two points you mentioned: 1) the battery discharging over time - the batteries are designed to automatically discharge by a certain percentage as the lifespan is shortened if the batteries are stored either fully charged or discharged. 2) You let the drone hover to allow a bit more accuracy for RTH - try hovering about 25 feet or so, this seems to be the "sweet spot" On a related note, if the weather is cold, keep the batteries warm eg: in your pocket before use as the batteries are less efficient at colder temperatures. Also at 15:52 note the birds circling, they could be getting ready to attack the drone as birds always attack from above and they can only increase their altitude by circling - if you finds birds are getting a bit too "interested", the natural reaction is to try to land or fly away - however, with a drone the best method to outrun birds is to switch to sport mode and rapidly climb in altitude before flying away as the drone will climb a lot faster than the birds can. Trust me - once you've had a close encounter with a flock of seagulls, you'll understand.

The batteries are supposed to drain slowly when not in use according to DJI. It’s has something to do with protecting the batteries. Also don’t leave a battery in the drone - if it swells you now have a huge problem. Always remove battery when not using your drone. I really enjoyed your video, good job. I have a Mini 4k to and it’s a great little drone.

If you are losing signal, then you can either fly higher, and or move the position of the controller until your signal improves, but be aware that flying with trees in between you can take away some signal strength..but all the same you are doing well for your second flight… Also the batteries have a self discharge feature when not in use .. make sure to fully charge the day before you fly, or even on the morning of the flight day… and the controller

The Cold weather will kill the batteries even if they’re left in your bag 👍 I keep a battery in my inside pocket when out to warm the battery a little before using it, seems to work for me anyway ;-) As for the return to home it’s a great function but if you feel comfortable landing it yourself then what’s wrong with that 👍
@DavidLudlowPhotography12 күн бұрын

@DavidLudlowPhotography enjoy flying & learning more about your Drone 👍 these smaller DJI drones don't get you noticed as much as the Phantom which I have & don't use as much as I'd have liked to due to confrontation when out with it mainly because people think you're upto no good 🥺

once the drone battery is fully charged remove from drone until you fly this will hold the charge better. leaving a fully charged battery in the drone will cause the battery to discharge. your doing well just take your time.

The reason yoyr battery was 76% is the battery doesn't like to sit fully charged. It's designed to discharge itself to 96% after 1 day and 76% after 5 days . Apparently it's to stop the battery expanding and getting damaged.

Hello David; I advise looking into expo settings. Its how fast the gimbal moves, how fast it yaws, and the speed of all the other motions. Find your personal sweet spot, and footage is slow and steady. It makes everything more 'cinematic'. Trust the Drone, it knows better than the operator where it should be. Nice footage; The only thing you are ever working against in the UK is the weather. Roll on Summer time.
