Really weird what was happening here with Hubsan. Because in your earlier videos it performed flawlessly. I have had this drone zmse for about six months and have never any issues with it. it does what it's asked to do. No connection issues and the tested range is over 5 km. Actually I bought this drone because you, captain drone and gorillaman garage gave very good recommendations for it. And for me it performs great.

I think it just has wrong Signal selection. With limited 2.4ghz band, zino mini Will struggle in urban areas

Hi, Marcus. You may remember me getting a Fimi A3 drone a couple of years ago on your recommendation. And I loved it! The first one died after 'returning home' into a tree when the controller crashed on pressing the controller screen record button! The second one was lost this Summer (2022) over dense woodland when the drone battery failed suddenly and it auto landed. Never found it, probably stuck in a treetop. So I bought a Zino Mini SE via Amazon at a fair price. Loaded the latest firmware and app. It flew nicely, although I never tried for any distance. BUT no matter how hard I tried, the video stayed at 720p (1280x720) And was very poor quality indeed. That was with an iphone. So I tried an android tablet. Same problem 😞 Gave up in the end, returned it to Amazon who fortunately gave me a full refund, and managed to get another Fimi A3. New, but made in 2019. An insurance claim helped with that. Sort of made sense because I had a modified controller, carry case, spare batteries. Still got it, flies nicely as they do, but as the batteries are aging the flight time is now much reduced - 10 minutes max. Maybe I'll try a 250g drone again in a year or so, but I've rather lost faith in Hubsan, and your report doesn't help. Pity, it's got so many good features and larger drones are seriously restricted here in the UK. I had a go at a home brewed battery replacement for the Fimi, but although it was supposedly the same capacity as the original, nowhere near the expected flight time. Others have had the similar problems with alternative batteries. The originals must have had very good performance when new. I was looking forward to epic battle between the two great Mini SE drones, but it turned out to be pretty one sided. The Zino SE never really had a chance with those disconnects, and I know people blame the OTG cable in the comments, and that may well be it, but I never remember having a disconnection issue with a DJI drone that was caused by a OTG cable. You did best you could with this comparison, the Zino mini just wasn’t up to it. Thanks for sharing Marcus.

I bought a product of this brand Hubsan Zino1 and I said never again, during take-off it flew into me and cut me with its propellers, It is a dangerous product. If you want to enjoy a steady flight and beautiful shots with your drone, DJI products are trustworthy

You should check the WiFi frequency there. There are many app, WiFi analyer, to check which band is the best. It is quite hidden in the zino app, but it has only 2.4ghz available on zino mini, while dji mini se should had 2.4 and 5.8ghz. in 5.8ghz,it has more chances that it has good connection, but it has limited range compared to 2.4ghz.

I had my HUBSAN ZINO MINI SE out repeatedly more than 5 Kilometers without any connection problems. Must be your OTG-cable or some other hardware problem. I don´t think it is a software issue with Syncleas 2.0

I had wireless on, on my iPhone. Hubsan drones seem to do better with the mobile device in airplane mode.

I don't understand why anybody buys these Hubsan drones. The few videos I have watched I've seen similar results. It just seems over priced and poor performance. What's the point of having all the features 4k etc when theirs so many connection issues. I wonder how it would perform out near snake pass with presumably no signal interference?

DJI has been targeted because of an American Drone group, headed up by Skydio has hired a lobbyist that's working the government. So far there's been zero proof of wrong doing, in fact they've been exonerated by third parties. Two other things, the "blacklist" only concerns US government purchases of Chinese made drones and Hubsan is just as Chinese as DJI.

It's unfortunate that you show the Hubsan disconnecting numerous times. I hadn't flown mine for a few mths and took it out after this video, I also updated the drone to the latest software and found it to operate fine. I had one disconnection after sending it out to 2800 meters and had to reorient my antennae and reconnected immediately. Your cables might not be fitting into your I phone completely or Dji didn't want you to show a very fine and capable Hubsan product. Show us your cable connection next time or buy one that fits properly into your IPhone, or perhaps android phones work better than the Apple phones in this case, again my flight only had one disconnection that was resolved after aiming my antennae properly. I normally don't fly that far from my position but I needed to prove not all Hubsans like the se have disconnection problems.
