I had much lower expectations because of the price but I was pleasantly surprised plus the drone isn’t too fast so it’s easier for people to handle but this will compromise the wind speed it can fly in but a good balance works well as it was quite windy where i flew it.

A few days ago, I flew my DJI NEO drone. However, I had to switch to the DJI AVATA 2 because the DJI NEO couldn’t handle the windy conditions. The DJI NEO performs wonderfully in calm weather, but the DJI AVATA 2 is more versatile and reliable in all kinds of conditions. Keep flying, my friend, and continue creating amazing cinematic videos. FPV cheers!

Thank you so much for your comment and for watching. You are absolutely right about that. I guess the NEO is the perfect way to find out if Droning or even FPV is for you without spending too much money. If then you enjoy it the AVATA 2 or similar are the next step ; )

Plus if I was doing a much more impressive place I would have used the other batteries to get a good video put together. Great beginner drone for people. I just hope they bring out an entry pair of goggles too so that people can try out FPV without spending £500+ extra lol

@@ed6971 Thanks Edwin, Yes I was surprised myself and that was on a bright day with no filter too. I only changed the sharpness setting to minus 1 but might change that to minus 2 and have altered the controller sensitivity a little too now.

Those cinematic shots were amazing especially considering that it’s a beginner’s drone. If you could make a video on how to use the controller to shoot like that with neo it would be really helpful. What color grading or changes did you make to the footages in LumaFusion to make it look so good?

I think it was just the boost mode but then reducing the percentage substantially to blend it just to add a little bit of extra colour. Great idea, I have also done a few other video’s regarding the controllers and some moves but it is a good idea so will do that for you. I did have some footage where it couldn’t hide the fact that it caught the wind and leaned a bit on the footage but there was obviously plenty that I was able to use. If anyone gets one just remember it’s limitations but it is really good for the pricepoint

Yes they do come under the same sub 250g rules but because of the size of the drone it can be placed underneath the undercarriage where the battery clicks on as it’s easily viewable without the need for any tools etc hence why viewers probably can’t see mine as it’s under where the battery would slide into the drone. Excellent video my friend. For the amount of negativity the neo gets online for image quality i think for most people its more than good enough. Looks great here nicely flown. I havnt had much chance to get out with the neo yet hope you are having fun with it 😊👍

Yeah I totally agree and you would think that some of the reviewers were discussing a £1000 apple product or something but the one thing everyone needs to remember is the pricepoint and I personally think it’s great. If you watch tonight’s video the drone scenes apart from the one at the end is all the NEO and it was ultra windy. Yes I had to cut bits out as it was just too much for it but there was still plenty of usable footage as you will see and was very easy and convenient to pop it in the air, then land, then move on a little further and repeat. My only complaint was it didn’t come to me when I held my hand out but I do know there are some hand signals you can do which makes it come to you and go higher or lower so I combined hand signals and voice commands with the app and it worked spot on. Is it perfect? No. Would I buy another? Yes lol

Light is the key with the Neo. My first flight with it was right before sundown and there was a fair amount of grain, but hey, I didn't buy it for camera quality, just for flying around and something to put in the air very quickly.

When I filmed this the only setting I had changed was the sharpness setting on the the DJI fly app as this was set to minus 1. Since filming i have now tweaked the controller settings so that it flys a little smoother when adjusting the controls but when I filmed it the controller was set to deafault settings : )

Thank you and yes it is very clever for the price. Believe it or not it was quite windy with gusts 15mph or above. Obviously the footage where it couldn’t hide the movement wasn’t included in this but it is usually always windy up there so a great place to practice. On the higher shots i was getting high wind warning and it still held up. I wouldn’t go to places any windier but lower down following it has performed well which you will see on next weeks adventure video ; )

I think I've said this before if you're a good solid pilot like yourself the cinematic footage just flows with great stick control, you Trevor have shown us its possible to get near perfect footage from what is a as you said a beginners drone, i think a lot of people wanting too become pilots Will want the Neo, great introduction great Finnish. 👏👏👍

No what you see is what you get, I may have added a mild LUT just to show the colour a bit more and have reduced the image sharpness on the DJI fly app settings to minus 1. The reason the footage varies a lot is because the camera is sensitive to bright light where it would look a little whitewashes so it will vary in quality based on the weather etc but luckily there are probably filters available already which will help a lot so I might look into that for a future video : )
