Excellent video with well explained steps for anyone that doesn't know how to do this 👍. I download straight from the Neo onto an external SSD (for a backup copy) and then also add another copy onto the sd card in my android tablet. I then use my android tablet for editing the videos for YT.

@amoktimeflies Initially, I used to transfer from the Neo onto the sd card in my tablet, then copy the files to the SSD. Now I use a usb C multiport hub so I can connect everything at once

Thanks as always, Ian. One thing to note : I *think* the DJI Neo goes into a 'low power mode' when downloading videos over wifi as does the Air 3s, so hopefully the DJI Flip and (mythical?) DJI Mini 5 Pro will also have the same function. Of course with the active cooling on larger drones like the Air 3 it's not as much of an issue. Thanks for watching and your continued support! 🖖

Yes, it goes into low power mode, but it's still not enough to protect the 5.8GHz chip from overheating here in Brazil. After all, this place is basically the doorstep to hell when it comes to heat-it’s insane. 🤣 I just checked with an electronics technician who repairs DJI drones here in Brazil, and he said something like this: with the current DJI models, if they have 5.8GHz, no active cooling and you’re in hot weather, just put a fan in front of it. Of course, he’s talking about hot countries climate. Cheers buddy 🖖

Yeh - I'm constantly trying to fiddle with and optimise my tech, which is why I use an iPhone and kick ass laptop - they basically stop me from doing that, because inevitably with my tinkering I just make things worse! But where I can 'tinker' then I 'tinker'. 🤣 Thanks for watching Ste 🖖

That’s a good question - in the DJI Fly app open the album on your Neo, click on the batch select icon and then select the clips you want to delete. In the bottom left and corner you should see a bin icon - just click on that. Doing this from memory at the moment as I’m at work, but hope that helps and is correct! 🖖

I would like to use the app and smartphone as little as possible and immediately transfer the videos to the PC. Is it possible to transfer videos from the Neo drone to the PC via Wi-Fi?

It’s a good question and one that I have investigated. Whilst there’s probably some very clever way to do it that some nerd has come up with involving WiFi protocols and bespoke browser windows and stuff, I can get my laptop to ‘see’ my Neo, but can’t get it to connect even using the security key. You’re best off just using the USB-C cable to be honest - less hassle and faster as well! Thanks for asking though! 🖖

It really helps if you enable showing file extensions (under Windows Explorer's View > Options > (Folder Options) View, disable "Hide Extensions"). Otherwise files with the same name that open with the same application can be hard to distinguish.

Yes, you are correct - the ‘trimmed’ download is kindof like ‘pre-editing’ what you want to include, although I would always advise going a couple of seconds either side of your trim to give you a bit of ‘wiggle room’ in the final edit… all the best! 🖖

Oh - that's a shame. The audio Isn't great and I don't think there's anyone out there that has said it is - it's just passable at a pinch unless you use a separate mic and software with good voice isolation. Have you tried it with the 'natural' sound setting where it doesn't muffle the sound of the drone so much? It was a relatively recent update, so I've not tried it yet. 🖖

It sounds like there’s an issue with your computer there mate, sorry! One thing to note - Davinci Resolve is now on Version 19.1.1, so you could try going to the Blackmagic website and updating it in the unlikely event that it is that. Hope you get it fixed- best of luck!🖖

I have the Neo and a Mini 2, I always drag the pics, RAW and Video from the Mini 2 directly from the SD Card, but I then have all the cache files of lower quality to delete from the phone, but make sure I copy all of the Quick Shots and 360 images etc from the phone. DJI made it quite complicated in that as you also download the full-quality photos or videos to the phone for the 360/quick shots I always ended up with duplication and then to make it worse some photos were optimised by the app so although they look the same the colour grading in the pictures was actually not as the images from the SD card, my first downloads from the Neo was similar, but as it does not have the 360 or panoramas it has been simpler. In my first circle video with the NEO, I looked identical to you and looked like a grumpy old man, mainly because I am old Lol ;)

With the laptop it goes faster. I use the tool: Total Commander to select and move more clearly where you want to save it. On your laptop you usually have enough storage space. If you do not have a usb-c PD port, you can always purchase a usb Hub, the ones from Baseus or Anker always work in the 7in1 or 8in1 versions. You can also immediately plug in a fast external SSD and the Neo if it has 2x usb-c, pay attention to that when purchasing.

Hmm… I would recommend the Mini 4 Pro. Partly because of its battery life, but also because it’s more robust on a breezy day of you’re playing outside. It also has object avoidance and programmable waypoints so you could take the same shots with the same angles multiple times which In think would be a fun and creative thing to do! But I guess I depends on your budget. If you do decide on the Neo then I would strongly recommend getting the RC-N3 controller with it as that gives you a LOT more control, not just over the drone, but also the camera settings. Whichever you decide on - sounds like a really fun idea! 😁👍🖖

Big tip here - even if you have a KAL (kick ass laptop) like mine - Use DaVinci resolve and generate proxy media for the edit + edit in a 1080p timeline then export in 4k - it makes life SOOO much easier - wish I'd made myself do it earlier! Check out the favourite channels section in the ATF channel page for some really good channels that do tutorials on it! Best of luck - you WILL have fun! 🖖
