DJI Neo - Testing the Newest Features!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to clarify, this isn’t a brand-new update for the DJI Neo - it was released on 2024.11.06 with DJI Fly App version 1.15.4. What features would you like to see added to the DJI Neo in future updates?

Great video. The update that I would like from DJI is, getting a faster connection to the Fly App. The Neo takes too long to connect and you have to constantly approve connections. Sony fixed this with their App. You just turn the camera on and after the first approval it connects to the App right away every time.

I completely agree. Every time you open another app on your phone, you have to reconnect to the Neo, which can be really frustrating!

Yes to both of your feature requests, especially the sharpness setting when using the app or neo on its own. but also, TURTLE MODE!!! or whatever it is called when it flips itself after landing on its back, that is desperately needed with any kind of controller.

Thanks a lot for mentioning feature request like camera settings without the controller. Sucks that it’s so limited without that. For me personally, I wish they’d at least add support for RC-N1 controllers since I’ve still got one lying around. But that was really cool of you to mention, seriously.

It’s a significant drawback, and one that could be easily added. I don’t understand why we can’t control those settings on the phone, unless they’re pushing you to buy a controller.

Good review! An additional feature would be to increase the speed of the drone in C, N and S mode when flying from the RC-N3 and other controllers.

I haven’t tested it, but I’m fairly certain you can use a lav mic or any microphone connected to your phone and still benefit from the noise reduction feature.

Hi, just got my Neo today, have done the firmware update to 1.004 am trying to fly it using an iphone 13 pro max, but it was not displaying the "full screen" icon option you mention at 5:02 ( onwards ). I only got the drone after watching this video yesterday as you showed the new features which I felt were important. ..then realised I needed to change it to MANUAL MODE ! Duh, bit obvious really.

Great point! I only realized after putting out this video that you need to be flying in manual mode! Don't know why it's not available in the other smart snap modes.

If recording audio from you phone and you have a Bluetooth buds or a mic 2 paired to the phone, will it still do noise reduction and will it pull audio from the paired device? Does the phone screen need to be kept on? Sorry for all the questions 😊

I bought some ND filters and a sun shade for the camera, and no, the shade and filters don't impede the gimbal from vertical motion. Works perfectly. And i purchased some bumpers for the prop guards. I didn't get landing gear yet, I'm trying to decide if I want them. And there's a tail fin that I'm considering for keeping it straight and stable when I'm going top speed. I had a gimbal protecter and the filters originally, but the hood doesn't fit with the guard, but it acts as one on its own anyway. There are full combos that have prop bumpers, landing gear, and gimbal protector all together. They all just clip on easily and they come off easily if you want them off. I don't care about the pilots upset that it's not the mini 5pro, bc i don't know where they even got that idea, or the camera isn't an upgrade or anything else they complain about bc they didn't do research on it and just ran to the store and said gimme gimme. It's a brilliant drone for what it's meant to be. I will say that it's prefect for getting anyone curious about drones into the hobby or profession. It's great to show strangers asking about it and let them launch it by hand and have their Jae drop to the grass 😅

It needs to add interval still photo function. Let say it flys in circle mode, it can take still photo in 1/2, 1, 2 sec interval instead of pressing shutter everytime.

this new update sounds good,especially the full screen mode while controlling it with smartphones/tablets and the image stabilisation while using the goggles. The Neo should be always smartphone specialised and centralised drone. Really hope DJI would just give us ALL the special features of this awesome drone in the smartphone app(except maybe for the range and speed increased while using the remotes). And please give the FTH option too for smartphones.

I recently bought one (my first drone ever) and had ran a few tests flying it, testing its features and using the controller. I don't know why but all the videos are slow when playing them from both my cellphone and/or my pc. If there are any videos on how to fix this that you could link me to I'd appreciate it. ❤

My request is ability to set sharpness and exposure adjustments (and lock) from phone, i hate the politics of dji not doing it because they want you to buy a controller. I have a Samsung Phone and have not managed to get Exposure lock to work in video mode, even when attached to the RC. (I believe iphone will do this.) But I found another tutorial which suggested that once launched, if I switch from VIDEO mode to PHOTO mode temporarily to lock the focus, then switch BACK to video exposure lock will hold. It does.... but a long winded way to do it. IF DJI could fix this for all phones that would good... why not?

Be careful using the goggles and controller with the neo. Mine flew away at top speed while I was hovering like 10 ft in the air. Found it, but it is a common issue with the N3 and Neo. Careful!

DJI Neo has issue. Just got mine on 6 Nov 2024 and on 2nd day it shows "Downward vision sensor error" Contact DJI service center, Just tell me it's irrepairable due to mainboard problem and no replacement. 😢Really disappointed with DJI. So do I just need to scrap a brand new drone 😡
