DJI Neo random Flyaway

I tried my Neo out with just hand launch at first and no phone connection, I did a Rocket and when it lowered I must have been almost under it on the return, so it stopped lowering itself and I had to wait for the battery to force a landing, I have had other issues with the use of the Motion Controller 3 reacting in the drone and control was 90 degrees out! Hope DJI sorts it out for you, I have the 2 years care fresh on the Neo as I will eventually try full manual FPV with it. Happy flying!!

Watching this, I'm glad I just bought 2 years of DJI Care for my new Neo! :)

Hopefully it was just a faulty drone. DJI were very apologetic when I informed them and it's currently on it's way to them at their expense. You get a 2 year warranty with DJI, the Care Refresh is more for user error.

@@anotherpointofview7468 Ahhh interesting! Well it was only £32 for a couple of years and certainly I feel a bit more 'insured', so hopefully I'll be a bit braver with it. I just ordered the FPV RC3...

I've had one random flyaway when flying with just the neo (no controls) it took off sideways and eventually got caught in some long grass but was a nightmare to find. Definitely needs a beeper for such occasions.

It doesn't have a beeper? I thought I saw an option in the menus that mentioned it

Yes, it has sound but it needs some kind of firmware update so that if when hand launching it doesn't land back in your hand it will start to beep so you can hopefully find it ​@@AhSoul
