Let us know so we can correlate all the factual information and I'll happily pass it all onto DJI. They need to fix whatever this is, I KNOW it's not affecting everyone but it's affecting ENOUGH people to be looked at. And they need to fox the 03 /goggles 3 issue that's also a major safety flaw, as first exposed by Mads Tech.

I only fly mine in fpv mode, had no problems as yet, I fly mainly in woods through trees small tight gaps, I quite like the thing so far

I've been lucky with mine. Although I did have a close call today, lost GPS for some reason and started to fly away but I recovered it and landed. Restarted and the issue went away. Lucky.

It's about time manufacturers put out finished polished products rather than shoddy beta products that may or may not get better in the future. People are (Beta testing)flying these in public places...

I live in the US and most if not all of us won’t be getting this beta drone till October. I’ve seen so many horrible things about this toy that I’m sure many here are trying to cancel orders before it ships. I was willing to pay 3 times the price for the Hover Pro Max and so glad I did. I would much rather pay more and be satisfied, than pay half for trash that will be hard to get rid of during the holiday or shortly after the Hover Pro and Pro Max are in the public’s hands. Unfortunately DJI doesn’t care about this product and is using its early buyers to refine the next version. Sad but true as this the current buyers are providing DJI the money got R&D of NEO V2

I have actually had similar issues in Drone only, RC-N3 and also FPV Goggles and FPV controller 3. The Drone is sold to do all these basic features (LOOK HOW THEY FLY IT IN THE MOTORCYCLE SHOP VIDEO ON PRODUCT PAGE) I feel you and there is A LOT of hate for no reason. You are not alone and the DJI Forums have also got multiple people saying the same.

When you had the fly away did it auto land because of low battery or did it just decide to land on its own with battery remaining

Most of the positive reviews start with DJI send me this drone for free to be reviewed. By now there are many youtubers like this one that do honest reviews showing that the NEO is not really worth it. That is why you always have to be mindful when a reviewer is biased. When it came out I was thinking of buying but after many reviews showing its shortcomings (like cannot fly over water or cliffs in selfie mode) I decided not to.

You are right, there are a lot of issues that dji should solve as they will sell enough to keep working on it, i bough the neo for myself i just use drones for fun, i have to entertain myself with something right other than just work, and dji neo is not at all a drone for beginners you will crash it and probably smash it if you don't they care of what you are doing (and by seeing your video it seems like even if you take care you will crash), unfortunately I have no money for the dji mini 4 pro (that I think it's the one. But I do have a mini 2 and that I can say it is a beginners drone, very good drone to start with and reliable. So dji fan boys or whatever lol, HE IS RIGHT, although I will keep my neo and I still like the idea of this drone, there is a lot of work for the dji to do on it, I hope they don't just sell it get the money and let it as it is, it will be a negative point for them from me... hopefully they will make it better and more reliable...

I bought it and returned it the day after. Love majority of the functionality but the lack of image quality put me off. The 4K doesn't look like 4K at all.

@@ericthestone that's because it's only a 2 axis gimbal and the software is essentially movies the images around the scene to keep it stable, sadly

@@squaddingquads it is an one axis gimbal. The stabilization is surprising good with EIS. But the smaller sensor size hurts the image quality when compared to to any other mini series.

I fly the Mini 4 pro and the Neo. In all honesty I love the Mini 4 with rc2 / goggles 3 and wide angle lens and cannot fault it. The Neo I regard as a toy for indoor and round the garden with a good standard of camera and nothing more.

Well, I was almost pressing the buy button, when I saw both of your videos, I am a newbie to be fair, I have a DJI mini 2 and a hover X1, I have little flying experience and my wife says I have expensive boys toys, and want another to sit on the shelf and idle away its days rarely used. Well, I do want to change that as a content creator, I want to use drones in my work. That has been the case since buying the mini 2. I may learn to fly them properly and not be scared of doing so. Well, I figure you have saved £299 of my money, as it seems that there are issues with this drone and unless resolved by DJI they will lose even more markets, not just the USA. cheers for the honest insight cheers Paul

I suspect in time this issue will be resolved, either by softest or by a version 2 but it is a bit if a risk currently imho, many people report they have zero issues but many people have commented here and shown me videos of problems. Thanks for the support and I'm happy to help further

Despite the cases you described as a DJI Neo user I am still considering buying it depending on how DJI will handle most critical issues and if they will add most desired features to the mobile app (sharpness settings). Let's see what they will manage to fix and improve until Black Friday :). I think that it has the potential to be a great product for people like me, who want an interesting way to capture family moments and still be able to be a part of these moments. Way better than just taking photos and recording with the smart phone. It's great we still manage to get honest content like yours to not rush with buying decisions.

I ordered a neo yesterday and also found a controller which I ordered. All the reviews I read were pretty positive, even the honest ones. I just found your videos this morning. I haven't had a drone before except years and years ago in the early days when they were really hard to control at all. Reading your previous video and this one I am now regretting my purchase. I think when I get it I will test it in a "safe" area like my daughter's out of town lifestyle property 😂

Oh that's a warning I've not had yet.... The potensic I reviewed is a diffrent animal to the neo and can't really be compared BUT it's a great beginner drone

@@lumixS5M2 a fpv drone will ususally burn out its ESC if its sitting turned on for longer than a minute, dji drones have a low power mode when not flying to stop that happening when transferring files and changing settings and will power off before any damage happens 5 minutes does seem fast though. I'm guessing it was a warm day or in direct sunlight?

I noticed you got a low battery warning before it spins out of control ! I think you did mention that the drone is underpowered that's why the issues, I would be carful with the battery until the fix all the bugs ! But a fly away for a selfie drone where the advertise or sell it without controller is a big NO probably a bug on the latest software update ? The should test those things better before the release is ! Video looks much better or am I wrong ?

They are making improvements yes but the fly aways and throwing itself out of the air is, as you say, a concern, I'll do some more, controlled testing and see what happens next and what I think we as a community can do

@squaddingquads I didn't see any more review with same problems as you have, don't you think that there is can be an issue exactly with your drone. If the issue appears when you push it hard - it can possible that there is some issue with thermal interface, and it's get overhit, and that can create this problems. If you can try on the other neo and you will reproduce the issue (as I understand form that video you now have 100% steps to reproduce bug) - than we will know that the issue with all Neo, otherwise it's defect with your drone, not all of them.

It could be just my drone but I've had several comments form people with the same issue and I've been sent videos showing the same issues including flyaways. It's entirely possible that a small batch has issues or that because for reviews I like to test things to the limits I found along with others, it's limits, but there is definitely a conversation that needs to be had.

I've been flying mine in all modes and controller options. including full manual with Goggles 3 and FPV RC3. I can only say what I've experienced and that is that's it's been perfect so far. 🤷‍♂️🤔 To be fair it's mostly been in fpv mode and any inconsistency in flight characteristics could be masked by my piss poor skills, but I bought it as a fpv practice stepping stone before I risk the Avata 2.🤔😅 Maybe you have a dud model. 🤷‍♂️ Or I have a lucky one. 🫣😅 Nice to see honest reviews though. 👍

People are expecting pro features on a non Pro drone, you won’t be getting them, people need to read the manual before using . I don’t own the Neo but have plenty of drones to compare, you are not going to get Avata 2 performance from a cheap drone end of.

I have the dji Neo fly more combo, the Avata 2, mini 4 pro so i can use the Neo with different RCs. Having bugs and issues is not unusual, having fanboys to defend your bugs and issues are just sinister Of the drone can’t handle certain height and speed, then simply state what limit are considered safe and functional, and what limit are possible but can’t guarantee a safe and stable flight. If you’re selling me a sport car that runs at 200km/h then you should assume I’m able to find somewhere to drive it at that speed. If the sport car burns at 200km/h, it’s the manufacture’s failure not the driver.

I tested mine today after update. Fortunately not with such a bad luck as you had. Still. Drone do not recognise if I pull hend to it for landing and i saw on commercials that after few seconds of standing hand pulled it should het near us and land. Fortunately i was able to test voice commands because of it. I demandet it to get lower than do the circle and when it was within my grasp it landed on my hand when i had put it beneth. I still need to test again the direction track as you know my was not that stable as one might think.

I bought one myself on day of release from Amazon Uk next day delivery , not a fan boi comment , I have flown mine pretty hard in all modes inc goggles and the hand dongle without any issue showing up , recording all the time in 4k . hope you get sorted out with a good one 😊
