Considering the price difference and the fact the neo works with my controllers, Im pleased I got the Neo. Ill never need 8k and so far the little Neo has impressed me, hope they continue to expand its capabilities through updates! Nice video, cheers.

I like you're style. I couldn't decide which one I wanted either so I brought a DJI Mini 4 pro and love it to bits "no. I didn't crash it" but I brought the DJI Avata 2 and I love that one even more so for sure I got a Neo 🚁👍

I own a DJI NEO and I'm not sure what is wrong with your Neo videos, but they look over compressed ( I looked and the download vids) and full of artifacts, my Neo videos are not that awful out of that drone @ 1080 60 FPS you might have a problem with something. The HoverAir X1 Pro Max cost almost three times the cost of the Neo and offers an improvement in video quality, but believe me when I say that most people aren't pretty enough to want an 8K selfie drone, at those resolutions you are doing some serious cinematography and are better off spending a little more money and getting a real video drone.

That was the one thing that kept me from using the Hover over the Neo, the fact that the Neo couldn’t keep up. I’ve loving the update to it. That’s one thing DJI definitely has the advantage of, they’re really good at updating their firmware and listening to the customers

could you have adjusted the neo be further away because the view of the hover was so much more wide and it looks a lot better that way. I was told that Kahanu could be adjusted via the phone to be further away while following I I’m curious why the hover looks so much more dramatic and faster . maybe the fee had to do with how fast you were able to skate with the hover.? I don’t understand how it looks more dramatic and cinematic though

I have been flying my Hover Pro Max with NDFilters and the video is Phenomenal! The image quality is literally comparing. My buddy has the NEO and has been giving me a hard time about my expensive purchase of the Hover Pro Max and kept laughing because he only paid $200 for his. After we compared what both can do and the image quality of the Pro Max, he put an order in for the Hover Pro. It really isn’t even close. I may get a NEO when DJI copies Hovers camera on a pro version. But my goodness the Pro Max is with every penny IMO!

I wish you would’ve compared it with the hover X pro instead of the max The pro is closer to the price of the Neo so it doesn’t make sense to choose such a higher priced model to compare it with

Contrasty with the Neo, it is obvious the Max has a better bigger sensor so the image looks brighter. I will give it to the Pro Max for image, then I give it to the Neo for price

I bought the Promax and loving it, You can buy the beacon controller separately it does the same thing Like Neo controller does to fly with the controller, I bought the cycle combo pack came with all accessories 💥💪🤟

Got to keep to a creeping pace for the Neo to keep up. It’s just too slow for action tracking. Like the original X1 was too but that all changed with the X1 Pro and its much higher speed and level 5 wind resistance.

One correction - X1 Pro Max has 1/1.3" sensor not 1/3" - quite a big difference :D for reference, cheaper X1 Pro has 1/2" similar to Neo.

Im not a DJI fan boy at all, but in this comparison the DJI Neo beats the Hover AIr ! in Some clips both were very close, but in situations like at 3:12 the video is smooth ( dji) and looks like it has higher frame rate , but when it switches to Hover Air at 3:16 its not smoth at all! ( look at the bottom left and right part of the screen) DJI Neo also has much nicer colours is some clips, but in some the colours are very close. Would choose DJI even if the Hover was the same price

There is really no comparison, The Neo is by DJA and uses all their controllers which a lot of us have. Buy that other drone entails buying another controller at the least.

The idea of these autonomous drones is not to use a controller. That’s just a hindrance for action tracking and getting a quick video then move on. These can be in the air in 15-20 seconds at worst of pulling it out of you bag. Get a DJI Mini or Air if you want controlled cinematic video. Having said that, I haven’t used my Mini in over a year since getting an X1 just because of the faffing about with a controller

In the USA you must always be in command of the drone so with no controller you would violate that rule you must at a minimum have the drone linked and be able to take immediate command from a controller of some type. So your point I believe is false at least in the states

the HoverAir X1 / Pro / ProMax are approved for use in the USA without a traditional controller and do not require FAA registration for recreational use. Nonetheless, you must comply with all applicable FAA regulations to ensure safe and legal flight operations.
