Yes, sensor will be same for 4 & 5. But, not for 5 Pro. With new chip in process, DJI release will make Action 3 & Action 4, GoPro 12(+) and insta360 ace and ace pro obsolete. Yes! May be! DJI is going to unveiling Osmo Action 5 on August 1, 2024.

Probably DJI 4 gonna have same spec or even worse as DJI 5. The pro gonna be the slight upgrade with increased price. This is usual business tactic (scam)

Right now action 4 is 299$ so great buy. If the A5 has the same sensor at a higher price I will stick to the A4. Similar what they did with the A2 and A3. Same lens and sensors just giving the A3 the traditional body shape and some other upgrades but not enough for me to buy it over the A2. Plus the whole out of focus issue that some people had.

@@TSGAdventures I understand that but there is also overheating issue so maybe they solved this issue with new batteries! Remember if outside is 77 Fahrenheit oa4 is overheating

@@34JOSH212 nah man I have used it in 80+ degrees weather many times and have not had any over heating issues at all. Maybe if you are using 120 fps all the time I could see that just using 24 or 30 fps I have never had an issue. I vlog a lot in a downtown setting that can get really hot and so far no overheating issues.

Won't upgrade from my Action 4 if the sensor and lens are the same. It will probably only have marginal impact on image quality and that is not worth the investment in a new camera for me.

It makes no sense that this is called Pro without zero hardware updates like a 1” sensor indeed. I hope those leaks were old or something otherwise very disappointing

Blame consumerism for that. I mean GoPro 11 vs 12, just see what they gave us, slight battery performance and no gps. New processor still a hardware updates. It is also possible action 5 pro has similar route

I broke my gopro 3 months ago, and I was expecting something much better, but however, at least action 4 will probably be cheaper ... And still a huge upgrade for me . I had gopro 7 black...

The 1 inch sensor is reserved for the DJI Pocket 3. DJI will not sabotage the sales of their top-selling mini camera for the sake of an action camera. However, you will get significantly improved low-light performance with the same 1/1.3" sensor and several more pro features. Insta360 Remains the only company to put out an action camera with a full 1 inch sensor. I'm talking about the insta360 One RS 1-inch Leica camera. Not the 360° version. It has been discontinued and is in the Hall of Fame of cameras.
