The more I watch these videos the more confused I get. I have a GoPro 10 and want to buy an extra for my 1 year KZbin vogging trip to Asia. I am thinking GoPro 12 or the Action 5 Pro. So confusing.

Great comparisons, many reviews waffle on about new features but it's really all about what results can be achieved. Does the DJI 5 not have a star lapse option?, the Insta shot looks great.

It doesn't have an automatic star trails function like the other two cameras, but I'm getting really good timelapses of stars shooting 30 second exposures at ISO 6400 with 40 second intervals. I'm planning a dedicated video featuring night-timelapses, but it takes a long time to get enough footage for a full length video. One big advantage is that the Action 5 has such a longer battery life than the others, when recording timelapses overnight I'm getting 7-8 hour recording times, so I can essentially capture the entire night on a single charge.

Hmmm, I already have all the accessories and battery case from the Action 3. I wonder if I should just get the Action 5 without all the accessories. it seems like you really only need 1-2 batteries. Plus I can still use the older batteries even though they don't last as long.

GoPro easily has the best stabilization, based on 0:39 and others. DJI has the best low-light footage, but it still looks pretty bad (as expected with all action cameras)

Osmo Action 5 Pro is really really disappointing. What is going on at DJI. The Neo launch was kind of disaster, but it turned out in an interesting drone. But the Action 5 Pro is just underwhelming.

You can see for yourself that the 5pro picture is jerky, and that's a defect! The ace pro picture is smooth and pleasing to the eye.

Unfortunately w/ the action 5 u have to dial in specific settings to not jitter as follows, so your shutter is fast enough to catch up with the stabilization: 4K 30, EIS at Rocksteady (not +), Shutter 1/100-1/8000 (this is very important, you can also quadruple your frame rate to 30FPS at 1/120, 60 at 1/240, etc…or jitter will occur) Texture at -2, Noise Reduction at -1 or -2. In night mode, you can’t adjust ISO but can manually adjust shutter to 1/120 and EV -1, texture -1, NR -2.. In normal, all these settings apply but make sure ISO is 100-25000. I would make FOV standard but you could use wide. Color is dealers choice, normal or DLOG 10 bit (which you’ll obviously have to grade o in post or in the mimo app). Cool that the A5 pro lets you preview the color correction. It’s great IF you dial these in!

Dji action 5 pro seems to have the most natural look of GoPro, I'm not a big fan personally and in low light dji can also keep it natural while insta ace pro too much I wanted to get the insta ace pro at first but I think dji did a better job this year because it looks good and I need a low light camera plus Plus for people who say the 3 cameras don't look that great you have to understand this is an action camera and they are cheaper than most cameras so they don't have to be perfect

Sorry but… All week I’ve been so excited to watch how the DJI action 5 goes… And at the end of the day it’s all about that dynamic range and how good everything looks and I hate to say it and probably hard to admit for heaps of people… But GoPro has done it again, It’s the clear winner in terms of image quality, DJI 1000x wins in the innovation of everything else, Especially battery life 🙌

You are biased. The GoPro has an 8:7 sensor, which means I don't have to think about whether to place the camera vertically or horizontally. And the GoPro Labs firmware allows you to set up the camera very well, which makes it much easier to do post-processing. It's true that DJI shoots much better in the dark. But I don't shoot at night that often, so the advantages of GoPro are more important to me than the advantages of DJI. I see a lot of hatred for GoPro on the Internet, and it's completely groundless.

You should choose a camera based on those qualities that are important to you, and not because of minimal updates. How can the 5 Pro have a lower recording bitrare compared to the 4? This is absurd. Users should be given the option of selecting a higher bitrate setting at the expense of lower battery life and higher heat output. DJI must add this to a firmware update. The bitrate is too low on the 5 Pro.

I was able to test the DJI 5 Pro and the Hero 13 mounted on my chest in an XCO competition where it rained brutally and according to that experience the GoPro behaved much, much better, the only thing that the DJI stood out in that test was the audio, it was better but the images the DJI did not come close to HERO 13.

Good comparison, all cameras do very well with optimal light conditions and there are marginal differences and each will do slightly better in different environment. I'm disappointed at DJI A5 as I expected them to make a huge upgrade this year concentrating on their sensor size and low light capabilities, looks like they've done neither of those. Not sure if I want to make the upgrade from A4 to A5 as they really only increased battery capacity and mic tech neither of which are importantly enough for me to upgrade. GoPro hasn't changed, this was NOT the upgrade I think most of us anticipated from what I've seen in other user reviews sponsored or not. In my personal opinion, I still think overall, the Ace Pro is a better and even in your low light sample, it still out performed the new GP13 and A5 and the PureVideo wasn't even used in those samples which would have destroyed those other two ;), being that this is now officially an outdated camera as we will see the new Ace Pro 2 launching in October. Leaked specs of the AP2 is pretty impressive, I think this one might actually be the GoPRO/DJI killer ;)

Impressive video shots and especially very invested. I think the GoPro 13 is still the leader in overall photo quality especially underwater. But for some reason her zoom is closer than the two competitors and this might violate the rules of the game. There is no doubt that ANSTA 360 surprises at high levels and is a very worthy competitor to GoPro. I have not connected to DJI OSMO and I would not buy it under any circumstances.
