Thanks' for providing such an excellent and detailed video on which memory cards are best for the Osmo 5. I'm heading out on a 2,000 Km MC adventure soon and of course, I will be filming as much as I can whilst on the Big Trip Having reliable memory cards is vital! (Have subscribed to your channel)

I use 256gb sandisk extreme plus but it stops recording at 30-40 mins. Why does that happen? I format the card in the cam before using

Informative, thank you! I am very new at this and still using Capcut as video editor. I also know Vegas Pro desktop relatively well, but considering all options. Any recommendations for editing software?

I think CapCut is a great choice, as long as it stays around! I currently use PowrDirector by Cyberlink. It’s pretty powerful and also simple to use. Ultimately, I think I will switch to DaVinci Resolve, but it has a bit of a steep learning curve.

Thanks for a great review 🙏🏼 I've liked and subscribed 👍🏼 and activated the bell 🔔 I have some follow-up questions / possible future video topic(s) for you: 1) Do you have any advice for long term storage of these massive video files, once created (Internal HDDs vs External HDDs vs Multiple SD Cards vs Cloud Storage, for example)? 2) What type (and capacity) of PC HDD would you recommend for editing videos from/to? 3) Any advice on video editing software (I'm going to be editing footage from a DJI Action 5 Pro with audio from DJI Mic Minis) 4) With reference to the DJI Mic Minis; does the audio from the mics add any increase to the file size on the action cam? For context: I've not recorded a single video yet. Just received the cam and mics. Your channel was the first stop to help me choose an SD card.

Thanks for watching and subscribing. As you said, I may have to make some videos on these topics, but let me give you some answers in the meantime: Q1 and Q2: You will definitely want to use a solid state drive (SSD) when editing - either the one on your PC , or an external drive. I recently made a video about 3 good options (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJOZk6SDgJiCi9k). Any of these should be fast enough to directly edit from and are available up to 4TB, which should be enough to hold months worth of video (maybe more). You can back up to a cheaper external hard disk, RAID or NAS, depending on how advanced you want to make it. Q3: I have been using PowerDirector from Cyberlink for a while now. It has a pretty full feature set and is very easy to use. CapCut is another good option for starting out and it’s also free. Q4: adding an external mic, does not add anything to the files or file sizes - it simply replaces the audio track that would normally come from the onboard mic. Hope that helps.
