Thank you for posting this. It was me who requested some footage recorded at -2, so I'm grateful you followed up. The footage looks a lot more natural on these settings with that digital sharpness removed. Still great low light footage. Impressive stuff.

Thank you for sharing this idea of -2 sharpness. Looks way better than the normals setting.
@markshirley01 Жыл бұрын
@@meinsylthow come you're at 1/200 for 50fps, surely 1/100 would have been ok.

I included 1/100 in the last example in this video. You can compare yourself. I prefer 1/200 for how clear everything is.

ISO 1600 & 1/200 shutter looks the best to me. I’m saving this for reference for when I can afford my own Pocket 3!! Thanks!
@IlSinistero2 ай бұрын
Thx. Guess setting it to 25fps and a shutter of 1/50 would probably give it an even nicer look - guess I have to test it myself, just ordered it today

I can kind of understand why people like setting 'sharpness' to -1or -2, and so forth. But it is interesting to be able to make out something (in the far off distance), when it's set at 0, or +2, etc.
@TravellerChris Жыл бұрын
I've shot most of my night videos on my DJI Pocket 2 and even though the 4K50 setting offers a clearer image when turning around, it does reduce the light entering the sensor, so I opted for a 4K25 and a steadier hand with slower movements when turning for less motion blur. Luckily, only two of those 4K25 videos will see the "light" of KZbin (a night walk in Sparta - Lakonia - Greece and night walk in Thessaloniki - Macedonia - Greece), as I plan to re-shoot every other night walk video when my DJI Pocket 3 arrives (hopefully next week.) Maybe you should also give a go to 4K25 just to see the difference. By the way, my personal opinion is that the first set of settings appear to be the best overal.

You're brave taking videos in glesga at night 😂. I can't believe how good this camera does at night, I just bought the DJI action 4 & the low light is the only thing that I don't like about it. Thanks for the video, will need to buy this camera soon.

May i ask why you shot at 50 fps and not at 1/100 shutter? have you try 25 fps at 1/50?
@simoz78 Жыл бұрын
The last part of the video he changed to 1/100 shutter. To show people walking past you, I think is better 1/200 shutter so they are less blurry (if there is enough light of course)

I’ve been impressed with the camera’s higher ISO shots, noise-free unless you watch on a big monitor. Certainly ok for web sharing. It’s nice to see human faces in the streets instead of silhouettes.

Does the DJI Pocket 3 do decently at night in street light in low light mode? I am also interested in the focus on people's faces. Unfortunately, a mirrorless needs a gimbal which is quite bulky. A phone that records better, such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, also needs a gimbal both when filming and standing still, especially when walking.

Unfortunately I don't understand the noise reduction thing. Is -2 or +2 better for noise reduction?

You could actually gain a lot of more light shooting 4K 25p 1/50 shutter, would get way less noise probably due to lower ISO

Hi why do you choose a shutter spd at 1/200?
@TimBrownTown Жыл бұрын
Cool. I prefer the very first setting combo (Sharpness -2, DeNoise -2, ISO 1600, Shutter Speed 1/200). I would think 1/100 shutter speed might be better but when you turn corners the 1/200 looks better with a little less motion blur).

@Justin_Naval11 ай бұрын
How do you record this without having those annoying flickering light? I somehow get those when I do them in low light environment like these
@Anadrolus3 ай бұрын
You need to set your shutter speed relative to the electricity system in the country. Know that you can shoot at 60 FPS and set the shutter at 1/100 or 1/50 for Europe, for USA 1/120 or 1/60. Apparently 60 FPS with 1/60 or 1/50 looks the best looking at the Gerald Undone video.
@Anadrolus3 ай бұрын
With the Osmo you can't shoot in a lower speed than your FPS though, so here at night I'd set 30 FPS and 1/50 for artificial lights.

excellent low light! hard to tell the dif between my a7Slll! However, in bright daylight this DJI Pocket cam sucks. The bright light flares, washes out background, and the rolling shutter needs a pair of crutches.

@gavthane Жыл бұрын
Kinda breaking the 180 degree shutter rule with using 1/200 with 50fps. Keeping shutter speed at double the frame rate produces much more “realistic” motion blur. The 1/200 footage looks quite choppy/jittery. The noise reduction however looks really good with the pocket 3 though.

gimbal has too much bounce as you walk
@armando.visuals Жыл бұрын
Thats normal for all gimbals if you just walk normal. As you can see it only bounces a bit up and down. It doesnt rotate. You have to walk a certain way to avoid that and gimbal set up is better when heavier to avoid that too. In this case his hand is not much steady at all. If you carry a heavier bigger gimbal your hand doesn’t move as much. Like Ronins etc. its not the Osmo fault in this case

I just couldn't watch this video very long. Your fast schizophrenia panning was making me sick. You really have to work on that. I suspect you are using the joystick. Don't do that. Very slowly turn the camera with your hand or body when panning.

Thanks. I am aware of that. I never thought about it when filming these. In future I'm considering using my phone alongside my camera to use the on-screen joystick for smooth movements.
