DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus unsuccessful Range Extender binding

Just found this video after 3 days searching for a solution. I can now bind my camera to the range extender. I still have no live feed, but I guess this will take me another 3 days of searching. Thanks a lot!!!

Today I put this drone into operation with Andoid 10. It's simple, just connect the drone to your Android 5-7 phone and then connect it to your Andoid 10. All under one account. And everything works.

Like another commenter said You can get around this by using an old phone to do the binding (I used an android 4.4 KitKat device) and then you can go back to using you new phone for everything else.

No one ever mentioned new smartphones will not bind to the dji phantom 2 vision plus, I was so lucky to find you and learn from you the solution to my no binding to the dji vision app on my cel phone issue. I switched to an older smartphone and SUCCESS!!!!! Thanks a lot man!!!

Glad to hear it! Love hearing success stories. Newer smartphones are causing binding issues for so many people! Or said another way, DJI should do some work to support new smartphones on the DJI Vision app.

You're exactly right!, before talking to you, I contacted DJI support on their facebook page and they were very kind but very ignorant, I just suppose that this should be one of the first questions they should ask drone owners (what kind of smartphone are you using with the dji app?) in order to quickly direct people to the solution. Instead, at the very dji store, when I called them, they said, bring the unit so the techs can perform a routine check for a non-refundable $40.00 US Dlls. fee. Are you out of your mind? I'm really greatful there are smart, knowledgeable, honest guys like TG who suport the community. Kudos to you man!!!

DJI stopped whitelisting phones since 2017, so you may need to sideload this: m.apkpure.com/dji-vision/com.dji.vision

Yes. Good point. Once you perform the binding procedure on an older android 5-7 phone, most newer phones will work fine for flying. It's just the binding procedure that requires an older android phone. Flying functions, in the app, work fine on almost any android phone regardless of android OS version.

I have a samsung note 8. It's doing exactly what yours is in the video. Not binding correctly. Can I do anything or will the phone never bind.

The only fix I've found is to use a different (usually older) phone for binding... good luck!

Hello turner. I just got the dji phantom 2 vision + from a friend of mine and i downloaded the dji vision application as you said .. everything is connected perfectly and the application is showing that my mobile is connected to the phantom but the application is still showing thw same message ( phantom connection broken ) . I did softwar update also for the drone and the camera and still not working.. i even tried an old mobile samsung s7 and not working. Please advise

That error means you need to bind it again. Only android 7.0 or lower will do the binding procedure successfully.

I tried with an s4 with version 4.2 and it measures the telemetry, I take a picture and everything, but I don't see the camera, I'll try with an iPhone 5, to see what it says

@@Rabia.oficial if you have telemetry but no picture, then binding is not your issue, the wifi module needs repair. Correct. The DJI app hasn't been updated since 2015, so the Binding function isn't compatible with newer phones. You can buy an old Moto E 2nd generation (model xt1527) android on eBay for $20. That will work

Using Android 7 or lower (6,5,4 etc) is the only way to successfully bind a range extender to a drone in DJI Vision app, as far as I know. Newer phones/OS versions can't do it

what is the name of the application you use?

The app is "DJI Vision" it's in apple and google app stores. Some Android devices won't show it in the app store and you'll need to side load the apk from somewhere like the apkpure site.
