between the two options, I'd stick to a tablet, in my case, the Tripltek 8 pro. a little tougher to set up, but you're kind of future proofed that way. plus its a great tablet for outside work

Great comparison and thank you for sharing !!!; quick comment; the DJI RC has some recent updates and the range in particular has been improved; I recently fitted up some Yagi signal enhancers (they are beautifully made / designed for the RC) and improve connectivity over the RCN1; last but not least , you can fit a sun shade to the RC which makes a significant difference to bright conditions!!

As you said the file management is far easier to deal with and get to the files. I use this with my Mavic 3 Classic and the Air 2 s. I use the updated RC 2 controller with the Air 3.with the O4 for the better signal strength.

if pro with 1000 nits is fine at bright sun with 50-60% brightness why RC with 700 nits is not enough at 100%?

It is quality playing a major roll. I'd wait for the DJI RC 2 which is about to be released. Maybe the brightness will be upped to 1,000 nits at least and it will have the external antennas to give it the range. That is what I am hoping for.

OMG, so glad somebody else noticed this. Also, at one point, she says she runs brightness at 50 to 60% but at a different point she’s at 60 to 70%…

Would anyone happen know what the bolt hole spacing is between the lanyard holes for the DJI RC Pro? A centerline-to-centerline distance would be fine.

Thanks for your review. I think the screen recording resolution of the RC is of lower quality than the RC Pro. The only issue I have with the RC Pro is the control stick design. The very narrow FPV stick base that makes it awkward to insert into the remote, or store in the rear recesses. I've resorted to using the RC Pro without sticks, because of the frustration of handling these sticks and frequently dropping them.

Thanks for the review! I have to ask: how did you link RC Pro with Mavic 3 Pro? DJI Pilot app doesn't link with it, and when I tried to install DJI Fly app on my RC Pro it just didn't install. I thought it's because of Android version on RC Pro.

Flying a Mini 3 PRO using the RC gives a certain range. Flying the Mavic 3 PRO using the RC PRO gives a significantly longer range. This in Europe and the limited radio transmitter power.... Tried the RC PRO alone. No file management found then..... The drone seems to powered up. The PRO extra brightness makes quite a difference. With the RC I bring a shoe box with me to shadow the screen during sunny days. Worth the money? It's more a question if one has the money and is willing to spend them.

I didn't hear any selling points that warrant spending 3 times as much on the RC Pro. Signal strength is important, but slightly better at such a huge premium? I'll stick with the RC unless I run into issues. So far, I haven't had any.

Neither of these are for me. DJI RC-N1 all the way with an 11inch tablet and Hoodman. Nobody ever mentions how crappy it is to film natural history or wildlife with a 5 inch screen. Regardless of brightness. I use those only for establishing shots and timelapses but for primary, no way. DJI is fading away the RC-N1 without realizing the biggest advantage it has. And neither of these more expensive versions can go 4 hours. Not a chance.

She forgot one difference. The video quality playback. Rc pro is 1080p. Rc is just 720p. Videos are being recorded at 1080p but you can't play it back if its saved in your rc controller. You would have to download them to your phone.

Meh, i don't see any point to buy rc pro for the price of new mini 3 pro bundle + fly more combo, if you are new pilot RC is more than enogh, screen brightness you can compensate with 10€ sun cover

Greetings! I get the RC Pro has better quality and it better at a $1,200 price tag US while the DJI RC is $329 US. When it comes to apps on the controller in the end does it really matter? If you want apps for games use your iPhone or SmartPhone for that. I agree with the brightness and you're wise to keep it lower because a bright LCD drains the battery like crazy. Some may find it wise to just purchase a screen cover for your controller to help reduce the brightness and save some battery life. That being said, I'd seriously just wait it out. After all, the DJI Rc 2 is coming out in another week and it has the antennas on the outside which will give you better range and hopefully some better brightness. Probably will be around $500 bucks US. I can't confirm that. If you haven't bought either of these controllers and you can be patient for another week to 2? I'd say wait it out and see what the new controller has to offer. Nice video and fair comparison.

Let me help. If you are a professional, go with the pro. If not and you just do this as a hobby, go with the RC. There is no point in spending the money when you are just having fun with it.

I'm not a professional but signal strength is a must I'm getting the rc pro for sure! I love flying my drone a few miles away messing with my family members and the rc pro is a must for long distances like that!
