Great video! Thanks a lot. I crashed mine in Norway (same part as yours broken actually). Bought a shell from Amazon plus a soldering tool (never used one before !) I followed each step...had to start over for one motor but eventually : it's alive and flying! Only part I had to figure out was to replace the rubber thing holding the Gimbal at the front. It seems impossible to make it go back through the tiny metal hole when reassembling. I simply took out the metal piece (push from underneath), replaced the rubber part inside and that was it!

do you have to use screws and the metal brackets? i want to lighten my spark to under 250g. thinking of using hot glue or silicon adhesive to fasten boards to frame ( gotta use screws to hold motors and gimbal though) bought the BARE replacement frame and kind of paranoid about soldering motors back in. Any thoughts or tips on this kind of 'modification' i want to preform on the rebuilding of my spark?? thank you

Great tear down video. You went into a lot of detail. Would have been nice to see more detail on removing the motors and ESCs and as much detail on reassembly. But still a very good video. I'm glad you got it fixed though.

Thanks, me and my friend had a hard time with the silicone that was glued close to the soldering points of the motors, spent almost 30 mins just to remove that and totally forgot to record that part...but the desoldering part was a pretty easy task considering there are only 3 wires for each motor and 3 for each motor board.

I tried to do it, and now I don't have any sensors working. I get gps sat counts, but it acts drunk. Acts slightly erratic . I removed and cleaned the front connectors, but haven't done the downward sensor connector. Any ideas?

Make sure all the connectors are connected firmly when you put everything back together. Also, check the connectors pins.

Update: I did that, cleaned them all up again, and still didn't work. Through inspection, I discovered a small tear/rip in the ribbon cable. I ordered another cable/vision sensor, and bam, it is working again :) Thank you :)

Did you need to soldered out at the ESCs? Is it hard to do?

No, all you need to do is to remove the screws, plugs and those freaking hard to remove silicone, the only part you need soldering is the motors.
