“ERROR: Could not write block to 0x44 ERROR: Could not perform SMBus read 0x00” at minute 4:32 in the video. I just managed to solve the problem. as you said in the video the problem was due to the cable connection. SCL, SDA and GND were in the correct positions but I hadn't made a solid enough connection to the CP2112 chip. Thank you very much for the video and the answer. It works perfectly even in 2024 :)

Did you have to do anything to get the pc to recognise the cp2112? I cannot get it to connect and don’t see it in my hid devices. May just be a bad board. Thank you in advance!

DJI is scamming us. It's as simple as that. The purpose of battery management software for Li batteries is to prevent overcharge and over-discharge, which can permanently damage the cells, or even risk fire. If you put any of your phones, tablets, laptops or e-readers in a drawer for a year, their batteries will be dead but are revived by plugging in their charger. The BMS prevents over-discharge. Not so with DJI batteries, which will not charge after extended self-discharge. That CP2112 can revive the batteries by clearing flags in firmware is proof that the cells are not physically damaged. DJI's BMS could be designed to allow charging of dead batteries like millions of other rechargeable devices; instead they want to sell you new batteries Shame on you, DJI.

100% agree, I actually sold the Spark and will not buy a DJI because of this issue, all their batteries do this!

This is unbelievable. Dji should just stop offering their drones at this point. If the government passes the bill u won't be able to fly the damm thing anyway. Im moving to fpv drones. I can't deal with all this crap anymore. Sad.
