DJI TELLO ALTITUDE TEST (US VERSION) contribute in comments

This whole channel started because of my Dji Tello , my 1st drone , probably the best drone of 2018 . a drone under 100$ . i was getting lot of comments about the Dji tello range getting improved with the new version. That was in some parts of europe so i was like lets do a Dji Tello range test or you can say a Dji Tello altitude test .
V01.03 gave me an altitude of 15m
i was like hmm thats a good altitude , also the range on Dji tello improves with a wifi repeater or using Tals app.
when i updated my Tello drone , to V01.04 i found that in U.S the range got limited to 10m
was i unhappy no, maybe a little bit but no. why? because i feel the drone feels little bit stable compared to the previous update and it was a little bit messy when you loose wifi signal , the drone actually hovers and wouldnot come down.
so this update made sure that the drone stays in range.
dji tello footage is of quality 720p @ 30fps but for under 100$ this thing is amazing.
dji tello flight time is about 12 mins but again it depends on wind speed.

Go to settings and change altitude to 30 m. It's 10m in default settings in new update

You can go to 30 meter but change it on the app. Find it

You have to go into the settings and change the default height cutoff. Then it will go much higher.

The latest version of the app lets you select a maximum altitude, from 2-30 meters. But this new version of the app for iOS has a glitch where it will freeze when you stop recording video. Then you have to force close and re open the app, losing and video you just shot.

Mine has to be set to what you want each time you fly . It will go up till it loses the wifi if you put in like 400 feet . No it won't even get close to 400 feet .

what a big difference! my tello is always reach 30 meters high... still tello is a trash, 'cause all samsung or apple phones got drop frames... i think drop frame solution is important, not altitude reach level 30 meters..

@@Techado never using talls app, first i ordered my tello it reaches 9,9 mt altitude level, all the time drop frame with recording, then first using update and tello reaches 15 mt. Still drop frame ... Then search any solution, every body says "you must use xiaomi wifi extender", then i ordered but it's not a solution, at least +5 mt reach altitude level... by the way control buttons not usable with touch screen.. Then i ordered gamesir g4s gamepad (this gamepad works almost every platforms, ) and easy controllable (i guess it's wright word) with this gamepad.. then i connect my phone and my tello, tello altitude level is reach 30 mt. First flight, sometimes 35 mt reach level (if no windy day) (+15 mt at least with only gamepad) ... but still drop frames with recording.. my phone, tablet and my oldy phones are samsung note series 🤣 yeah yeah i'm kind a samsung fan... Then problems are still continue, search the web and learn smtg about these flagship phones are not usable with tello... my friend got huawei mate 10 and my customer using xiaomi mi 5s ... then I thinking and got solution but very unordinary way... when i connect my tello with my friends phone and my customers phone, all drop frames is gone with video recording... WHY? Answer 1 is easy.. tello is a Chinese company product, huawei is chinese company product, xiaomi is chinese company product... so all chinese chipset devices are co-operate each other... Answer 2: All samsung phones and apple phones are using their own cpu and gpu chipsets but huawei using hisilicon, xiaomi using qualcom... these cpus are smash the other flagship phone companies cpu chipsets (maybe only using tello drone) When i connect these phones and test record not any drop frame at all. So its our tello is a big trash with video recording. Tello is choose control device... If tello manufacturer have any solution with this awkward situation, then i respect again to this device...

U need Android snapdragon 450 or above with minimum 3gb ram you won't have frame drops i tested else i too had same i couldn't use it with frame drops in lenovo that runs on lollypop

Have you even tried using the TALS app, this allows you to increase the altitude to 30 meters. Or is it not available in the U.S?

TALS IS available for U.S but i was getting a lot of comments and mails from all around europe that they do not need TALS anymore as the app had unlocked the flight to 25m , well in U.S they kept at 10m thats what i found after the update. my next video will be Dji tello + TALS = Best friends? gonna interesting probably tomorrow so stay tuned and thankyou for peeping into my channel
