I don't get it. You said the second test was with "No wifi extender", like the first test. However the second test far exceeded the first test with both having "No wifi extender. How come?

I must genuinely say that I have never seen such a clear, straightforward and extremely well presented method of connecting a WiFi repeater to a Tello drone, as you show for the Meross. I, like you, fiddled about, in my case for 2 days trying to get the Xi range extender configured but failed miserably. I sent the Xi back to Amazon today and am waiting for the Meross to be delivered tomorrow. I will update this site with my experience when I have, hopefully, connected the Meross!

As promised in a previous comment, I duly received my ordered Meross repeater and found it very simple to be up and running with a full WiFi signal in just a few minutes. What a difference! it has made to the range, I know that it has least doubled the original range to my Tello and I could not be more happy. I, like others, also have the red light showing on the repeater after just a few seconds of operation but this makes no difference to its working. Well done Dragon 7, can’t wait for more of your videos.

I hated the set up for the Xaomi. The Meross is easy. Both have about the same range.

Brand new to using my new tello drone. Probably a dumb question: The drone connects to my home wifi signal and then to the tello wifi. How do I connect to wifi when I'm away from my home? I haven't tried going to the park yet to try it, but trying to understand how that could work since I'd be away from my wifi connection to connect to the tello? Maybe it involves using cellular connection? Thanks in advance for clarifying how it works.

The elephant in the room on this video is that the second flight range was reasonably close to the one with the extender. If you could get the range of the second flight on a relatively consistent basis - why would you need the expense and hassle of the extender? (112 vs. 135 - not night and day) And this is NOT addressed in this video at all, which is a shame to me. If both "no extender" flights had been short, then don;t dive deeper. But these three tests, to my eye, simply warrant more data.

Kavi Rawat TALS app allows Tello to fly higher then Tello app allows but it’s no longer applicable because the Tello app now allows higher alitutude. The WiFi extender is simply to get better range with the Tello.

Most likely interference from another nearby drone. Tello drone is very susceptible to interference. The WiFi extender:repeater helps significantly overcome interference with a stronger signal.
