Nice video. I think you are very precise in your judgements. After watching several reviews of that drone, I came quite to the same conclusion. Connectivity range is not this drone's strongest point. I just wish you mentioned its shortcomings mitigations strategies, e.g. using wifi range extender, etc, since it's quite important as connectivity affects video quality and controls.

YOU SHOULD NOT USE PROP GUARDS WHEN FLYING OUTSIDE. This effects video quality and aerodynamics, the wind will grab the prop guards and will make it fly like a kite. I have also had good and bad video feeds depending on the device I use. Samsung S8 or high end iPhone had a much better connection than my less quality devices I have flown the Tello with. @@MrSujano Only 720P can still be good quality. Something must have been wrong.Yes it can be choppy if WiFi is weak. But just look on KZbin. People fly it up 30 meters and video is sharp and smooth. The Tello is not a toy. It is a video drone. For when you can't fly your GPS drone. And $99 is not cheap! It's expensive for a small optical flow drone. But worth it. If you know how and when to use it. For example on a town square with people around. Or through tight spaces. Or just a quick selfie. Problem with you reviewers is you think everybody works for National Geographic. Oh no!! Look at the pixel. Not a good pixel. Wow wow wow. Can't have a bad pixel! Must be 4k 60fps! If it's not 4k 60fps then we all die a horrible death! Well if that is the case then hire a helicopter crew with IMAX. I think you damaged your your Tello in the snow. now the signal is weak. Or it happened to be a faulty unit. People are all happy with their Tello. Only the 'professional' reviewers seem to have problems. At least you wear your cap the right way! Most reviewers can't tell their back from their front. They suffer from Telloritis.

if you fly it away from all the houses etc you will find the video smooths out - its still only 720p but it will look better than what your getting at the moment. Also set your phone to airplane mode

A Tello is not an ordinary drone and should not be reviewed as if it is. You did not show that the Tello can also be connected to VR goggles, and - this is the most important - that the Tello is easily programmable. This is a great opportunity to kids to learn more about how everything, I mean everything works today, and to get educated on coding in a fun and "instantly gratifying" way. Your conclusion focuses heavily on the video quality which you consider poor it really is HD720p30. But video is not what the Tello is particularly made for. Too bad you do not address Tello's real qualities.

Try using the Xiaomi Wifi Extender. You’ll get much better results: Phone connects to the extender wifi, and the extender connects to Tello’s wifi.

Hey Mr. Sujano, thanks for the overview, I just bought one of these to learn how to control one and not for the video recording aspect. I intend to use it mostly inside a building so the weather will not be an issue, at least initially. The product is still in shipment and may be arriving tomorrow. I appreciate the tips on charging it fully before doing anything else with it. Enjoyed your video on this product.

Really useful review, thanks, helped me decide whether or not to get one of these (not!). I'm after something with at least a 1080p camera, onboard micro-SD card recording, and pre-programmed flight modes (esp. orbit)... Is there a relatively cheap drone you would recommend that ticks those boxes? Cheers!
