Hey DJI Enterprise - thermal question here! I noticed the FOV on the M4T is 45°, and the FOV on the existing M3T is 61°. Since the thermal camera has the same 640×512 resolution as the M3T, won't mapping jobs take WAY LONGER since we'll have such a decrease in overlap for the same altitude? However, does the M4T support super resolution mode during thermal mapping at a 0.7 second shutter interval? That's the only possible way this makes sense. And as a follow up to that, since the super resolution is only scaling up off of the 640×512 sensor, is the super resolution thermal image good enough to compensate for the 26% increase in altitude I'll have to fly at? I need answers! My clients need to know too. Please respond - as I have not been able to get confirmation for this concern. Thank you!

While it can enhance visibility and detail through computational methods, the fundamental thermal sensitivity and detection capabilities remain tied to the base 640 × 512 sensor. Practical Implications For mapping applications, you’ll need to: 1. Increase flight altitude by approximately 26% to maintain the same ground coverage 2. Account for longer flight times due to the narrower FOV 3. Balance the trade-off between super-resolution benefits and increased flight height The super-resolution mode may help compensate for the increased altitude in terms of visual detail, but you’ll need to validate this in your specific use case, as thermal image quality is highly dependent on environmental conditions and target characteristics

why no wet weather rating ? These machines are typically used outside. Where there is weather. Sometimes that weather is not fine and dry. In fact, where I fly, it is commonly raining . This rain does not greatly change the behaviour of the animals that I am looking for. But if the thermal drone gets too wet, then it doesn't fly so well, hey. Does DJI recommend Fly, Crash, Care Refresh, Fly, Crash, Care Refresh, etc ? If so, can you please publish this procedure for the benefit of national aerospace regulators.

If you are ok with the price tag (5k-7k usd) and a standart color profile with highly compressed files, go for it. Just keep in mind that the enterprise series usually doesn´t offer flat color profiles (DLog) nor high bit rates and color depth (200mb/s 10bit) for professional color grading, and is more expensive than their consumer siblings (such as the Mavic3Pro), which are superior for aerial filming. That´s an assumption based on the Mavic3E and previous Matrice series.

Now, add an automatic self-replacement battery system where the drone can autonomously monitor an area indefinitely. The drone would return to a docking station when its battery is low, and the station would replace the depleted battery with a fully charged one.
