Do you use the preview player for music prep? Or is there a different reason you use it ... give me some different ideas on how else it can be used!

Great video Justin!! I've actually never used the preview tool before, and after watching your video I am going to use it (and probably overuse it!! Haha). My question is, which audio output device does the preview tool normally output to? (For example if I have my Denon MCX8000 controller mapped for audio in the program, will the preview output into whatever I have set to "headphones" or will it default to my desktop audio, kind of like if I were to open Google Chrome while VDJ was simultaneously running and play a video on KZbin which would then default to my laptop speakers?). I know I could probably figure this out just by going downstairs and getting my DJ laptop, but I'm nice and comfy in my office chair. Haha! Again always enjoying your content!!

It should be defaulted in your controllers audio profile to the headphones; if not you can set that yourself. Just go into the audio settings, and select "preview player" from the dropdown menu, and then assign it to the headphones (or wherever you like). Since I primarily use it for prep work at home, I actually have it assigned to the desktop audio since I usually will not have a controller connected. But even when I do connect my small DJ2GO2 controller, I still leave it on the master output so I don't have to put on headphones (again, this is just for prep work and I'm sitting at my desk in my office). But as always with VDJ, you can dial it in for your specific needs! Have fun with it!

Great info. What I would love to know is how can you play more than one song without loading the deck. So if you want to play a whole folder like you would through your laptop where one song finishes and another begins?
@djkanoya2 жыл бұрын
Just load all those tracks into Automix and press play!

How can you pre listen to a track before you load it while playing live?? In other words I want to hear the next song before I load it without everyone else hearing it too.. I’ve heard I can use an interface.. any suggestions or videos you can post or have already posted??

Are you using a controller?
@natedunn12183 жыл бұрын
No controller yet maybe in the future. Rite now the set up is out of my laptop into the club mixer. But the way it is set up I can’t listen to my next song I want to play because it’s going into one channel on the board. I’d like to split the decks into 2 channels. I used serato previously with the Rane SL2 that made this possible, is there something like that for virtual DJ??

I noticed sandbox mode seems like what I need without having to buy anything else but I can’t seem to get it to work..

@@natedunn1218 I would reccomend getting a Numark DJ2GO Touch, at the very least. This will allow you to send a master to the mixer and have cueing in your headphones.
@natedunn12183 жыл бұрын
@@djkanoya thank you for that. I am a professional DJ in a club 5 days a week. I know you said at the least get that numark but is there one that’s maybe a step up? Or a few steps up lol would any interface work? What do you think about the scarlet 2i2??
