@@theangrybirdsfanandstarwar1098 I don't agree. I miss the fact that they were local, but they never did a good job of maintaining and taking care of their theaters. I was even an employee in 1998-1999 the old Keller 8.

It felt so fancy to go to the movies during this time in St. Louis. The fancy theatres, screens, curtains, and this incredible jingle got me fired up before the movie even started!!!!! It was an event to go to the movies!!! Then go home and listen to Jack Buck and Mike Shannon call our exciting St.Louis Cardinal games. BBQ pork steaks , potato salad, Budweiser Beer .

Still got mine! It's a cherished artifact of my childhood, and the original tune was the theme song for my falling in love with the movies. You're right, they sold this at concessions for something like two bucks, and I jumped right on it.

2:27 the best version in my opinion. They did a bit of an enhancement in 2006 for their 100th, but it was essentially this.

I remember the 1970's/1980s Wehrenberg music very well. My late best friend and I used to call it "The Wehrenberg DIsco." When I hear the tune, it always reminds me of him. Good memories!

The second version of the jingle takes me back to my college days. Ronnie's Wehrenberg was MY theater!
@moviedave20016 ай бұрын
Me too. I was at Webster when that jingle had its heyday. If I could make it so, I would make it so anytime I watched a movie at home, that jingle would play first.

I lived in St. Louis for most of the 90s. I worked at a W Cine' for a long while, and I actually own this cassette. Oddly enough, I have it on my shelf and can see it typing this right now. lol

Remember the cassettes bought one at the Wehrenberg Theater in Cape Girardeau, MO. Best theater I've been in was La Crosse ,Wisconsin been there since 1920 . Order pizza and they bring it to your table every seat has a table. Also will bring you any drink you want! Never seen another movie theater sell alcohol. Can't beat their service!

What year does the cover say the original curtain opener theme was introduced? Looks like 1969 but the text in the video isn't clear.

I believe it was 1959
@daviddaskalnojokeradio4 жыл бұрын
It's 1969. Even with the times this was the sound of that era. No way it was 1959. Drumming and production sound like this didn't exist in 1959.
