I just broke out in goosebumps seeing this again. I remember going to the drive-in, as a kid, back in the 70s. We would always get restless waiting for the movie to start and would be told to be patient or we could just go home. Got it...mouth shut. As we circled the car, kicking the gravel, the sky would slowly darken ultimately resulting in dozens of car horns honking in unison as a demand to start the movie! Then, suddenly, with a still darkened screen, the pulsating bass line pumped out of the speaker and we had to wait no longer. In less than a minute, we would see the Wehrenberg crown enter in from the right and ease into the middle like a magic code saying "Here we go". That was such a great time to grow up...I miss it.

We would go to Midrivers Mall growing up to see our movies. Then there was the Dollar theater right off the highway. But I remember sitting in the theater while this them was playing with the grainy audio and the occasional BOOM when they changed tracks (i guess), staring at a blank screen until the logo slowly edged up near the end. It signaled to me that I was really at the movies about to have a real movie experience. The theme was stupid, but it's forever burned into the nostalgic part of my brain. Thanks for posting.

I seem to remember that the original version of this had some other junk that showed on the screen before the Wehrenberg Theatres logo and name appeared at the end. This was later removed and replaced with a black screen like what is shown here--only the logo and name at the end were left intact. Probably not much chance that the original still exists anywhere (at least not on the internet) but that is the version I would love to see again.

It originally showed clips/stills from a bunch of different movies. I'm assuming they dropped that because it became dated. I was really young, but i recall there was at least a still from Ben Hur and a still from The Ten Commandments in there. (as of late70's really early 80's)
