RC ADVENTURES - (Basic) How to Spray Paint an RC - RC4WD Trail Finder 2 - 4x4 Truck Upgrade PT 3

www.RCSparks.com - 1080p HD FTW! My friends, a much requested video is "how to Spray Paint an RC - the Basics". At my Painting Skill Level - this is a perfect Tutorial! The Model I am working on is an "RC4WD Trail Finder 2 - Toyota Hilux - Mojave Body". The Color of choice is a Tamiy-based paint "Light Blue". Seems simple enough!
The key to spray painting an RC Hard Shell is covering the Plastic evenly, allowing the Layers to Dry in between coats. A Light Mist of paint is beneficial to avoid overspray in a particular area. You will see how I do it in this video.. and you can try to mimic it, if you need the help.

One more tip fro using the paint(used similar paint on static models in the past)...after spraying, turn the can upside down, point away from the project and spray until it comes out clear....this will prevent paint from drying on the nozzle tip and "spitting" paint or just not spraying at all for your next coat. a few tips i think you could have included medic, is some i got from a fellow street artist and rc hobbyist. something along the lines of, use a recognized brand of paint (eg tamiya), make sure the nossle is clean, doesnt spit or fill up (on a scrap piece), spray from around 25-30cm away, and go almost ultra light. dont rush! =)

I'll tell you one thing, using the right paint and the techniques prescribed here mean so much. Lesser paints don't come out of the can as fine as Tamiya. There's a reason it's so expensive.

How can you paint outside? What do you do about dust and little specs appearing in paint? Hard to control dust unless you paint in a paint booth or bathroom after running shower for a few minutes to eliminate dust particles.

My Dad had a 1:1 1962 I.H. Scout that was that color...that was a looong time ago. Chevy 283, Dana 44's F&R w/lockers, and a 205 T-case w/PTO, stock 3 spd w/underdrive, it was bad.
