I love this song! Djohariah Stevens went to my high school, there's a picture of her in our athletic Hall of Fame for Track & Field. She was gorgeous.

When you actually read about Djaharia, his sister, this song makes so much more sense and is 10 times more beautiful. Gosh, I love Sufjan.

Where can we read about her ??

A true fan would realize although you necessarily dont enjoy the guitar others can find it beautiful, and its beautiful how Sufjan can make plenty of unusual noises blend with his beautiful music. In my opinion.

The solo is fuckin great man. You're either out of date in guitar world or in a very non-liking-rock-music phase if you think otherwise.

@littlelogic92 the idea of getting paid for art is arbitrary in itself... its just a capitalist ideal that has been pushed into everyones brain. If someone would give me food and a place to eat instead of money for the stuff i do i'd joyed

@littlelogic92 i don't like people making money off of art... its kind of silly because we should all try and express ourselves through some sort of art form, I was saying that i'm thankful for his music even though he does it for money which is like being thankful for someone selling you that sweet ass xbox even though you worked yo ass off many hours to purchase said item.. ya know?

As a Sufjan fan, this song is, in my humble opinion, one of many culminations of Sufjan's incredible musical talent and ability to transpose emotion into sound. This is anything but dissapointing. I will admit, the guitar solo is terrible, but its just a smudge compared to the beauty of this song in its entirety. A true fan would see and understand Djohariah to be a masterpiece.

Not even close, this song is about his sister. It makes plently of sense if you paid attention to the lyrics and the meaning.
