No one touches the GOAT but you can see here, how big a talent Kyrgios was. His biggest weakness was his psyche, followed by his body in the later years of his career.
@lotus630Ай бұрын
"followed by his body in the later years of his career"... which is still because of his psyche you just can't maintain competitiveness after 30 if you don't train hard and for whatever reason, Kyrgios just doesn't like to train hard (either because he thinks it looks "cool" to not try or he is secretly afraid to find out where his talent truly ends)
@tomsd8656Ай бұрын
Tennis is as much about psyche as talent. So you can't separate the two. In fact, in just about any field, you can't separate the two. To perform at the highest level, you have to have both. This tournament is probably Kyrgios's top mental performance. He couldn't get past that, which is why he just spiraled down from there.
@sidthiru1509Ай бұрын
@@tomsd8656 more about psyche than talent to me. There were far more talented players than Djokovic, but they just didn't have the mentality to win

Nono, nick was a way better in that match, as in the previous ones. The fact is that he lost all the important points...

You can tell how much Nick was enjoying his tennis that Wimbledon. Really good place psychologically and physically. Simply not used to the mental strain of a final in the last set, but the genuine joy on his face at being there said everything.

Been looking for a condensed highlight of this match, so thanks for the upload. Also wondering if you have the Wimbledon 2023 final and Djokovic Vs Nadal Wimbledon 2018 highlights, thank you.

Kyrgios was consistent almost the entire match (which is rare). Too bad he lost his composure a little towards the end while the match was still close. In the last tie-break he tries difficult shots as if to ease the tension that he is unable to contain. Big mistakes that he didn't make before and which cost him the last set.

It’s crazy how Novak can play so average but just be focused and still come out on top

@ who made it to a Wimbledon final? You can’t be bad and make it too a slam final. Especially on a surface where big serving is rewarded

@mattjagar6324 i'm not telling you that he is bad but come on novak,nadal,federer can play so average and beat kyrgios in a wimbledon final nothing impressive about that

Novak's condition wasn't so good in 2022 but getting Krygios in final helps.

But the statistics speak for themselves. It’s obvious who works harder and who is the better player, not to mention a better person. Djokovic is a good man, Kyrgios is a massive prat. Kyrgios is such a disappointment, because I know he has what it takes to win big singles titles, and if he put in the work he would have a better chance to do that. I don’t care what anyone else says, Djokovic is the best of all time.
@ZeDuBrejuАй бұрын
@@matthewburgar2626 Agreed. Kyrgios can do more than he does.
@adamh7947Ай бұрын
Kyrgios was incredibly talented and he had all the athleticism needed for this level. He was only millimeters away from being as consistent a champion as the others of his generation. All he needed was a coach to help him grow psychologically, and if he had had the right coach, it would have been an immense transformation for him. He would have needed a pretty special coach though - someone very grounded - someone with a Cus D'Amato type of vibe but in the sport of tennis. Even a Martina Navratilova would have been a good coach for him (not that she was coaching). Apparently though, Kyrgios was not that serious about tennis.

He once said himself he doesn't enjoy the pressure and the lifestyle. He just wants to play. Infact in doubles he does so much better and doesn't lose his temper at all. The lifestyle of a professional athlete doesn't suit him. Always travelling and living out of hotel rooms and training... But such a shame for the game as he is technically insane and a joy to watch when he doesn't lose his temper lol

I hate Djokovic but he’s right, Nadal hasn’t been able to beat Djokovic off clay since 2013 and in his condition, he would’ve lost in straights

His condition was amazing before he tore his abdomen in the qtrs. Coming off of being the grand slam winner at aus open (people thought he was struggling in the qtrs there and look how he bounced back) and winner french that year too, 2022 had potential to be historic for him beyond what it already was.
