It’s still perfectly fair for you to get exactly what every other employee gets…what you earn. Personal feelings don’t change what the term manager actually means. Maybe change your job title if you go so far above and beyond managerial duties. That would end this debate lol 🤷🏽‍♂️

Managers aren’t employees. Artists don’t have control over managers as if they are employees. Many so called “creators” don’t have enough business acumen to classify people beyond employer and employee because that’s all they have experience with in real life. Managers are similar to contractors, consultants or even investors. Sure, money and direction comes from you *if* you’re actually making money on your own and can afford to pay a manager. If you’re not making money, you don’t have the authority of an employer because you’re not paying someone for their work. They are helping you tap into money with their skill set, connections, and strategic vision. If you’re trying to break through and have a manager, they are not your employer because you aren’t paying them for their work. They are investing time and money in you and taking risk. You have to have the depth of pocket to be an employer. If you don’t have the cash on hand to direct a manager, sit down with the empowerment and entitlement. Employers pay for work, not asking you to put something together for them so the employer gets paid. The employer should already have that figured out on their own. So many people go off what they experienced in life or “feel”, not off of what they actually know.
