Hi Steve have you ever considered hitting a few casting sessions with a braid shockleader.I myself use a braid 103lb daiwa j braid for actual fishing with a 175gm lead upon an M4 EVO ,my mainline is mono 16lb - 20lb sakuma ice crystal .33mm .No out of the ordinary problems have occurred ,i have never measured a cast or cast upon dry ground but in all weather conditions with a baited trace ( 4/0 -7/0 squid lug, squid bluey wrap ) my avet sx magicast displays a more than satisfactory cast. I would imagine with your understanding of the living geometrics and involved coupled with your physical capability some interesting results could be attained . Perhaps even considered for entry for world class events.

Most if not all casting comps use mono shockleaders i have never tried a braid shockleader only braid mainline on fixed spool a few times when fishing

Hi Steve, how is your zeteque orange in colour, did you custom it or it comes original like that? Thanks 😁
@djrmonix3 жыл бұрын
Its more of a red. VW mars red to be exact it was done by the previous owner but i refurbed it some time last year. Its just lighty sanded you dont want to remove material, and then sprayed with an automotive aerosol, then sealed with a very light coat of bondaseal(yacht varnish)

What's your opinion on a Zeteque GT or TXL GT for fishing? Fish the Shannon so 6oz, big tides, big baits and rough ground.
@djrmonix Жыл бұрын
Defo up to it! Not sure if there is Zeteque gt but defo a txl gt! Also look at Zulcron xt435 GT! I have one great rod cast 220g equal section 14'4 not too expensive either

Sounds like the Full Tournament is a good rod for fishing and distance casting, mite be a nice upgrade from my Zziplex GSI?

@@djrmonix I cant justify that kind of cost at the moment more so as my casting has gone bad, not sure what's done it but it's wrong. Id have to do what I did with my first Zziplex rod, I have to earn the privilege of having such a rod by casting at least 230 yards consistently as a target. My first Zziplex ownership target was at least 200 yards otg.

@@djrmonix I ask because I use 50-70 grams weights and rods with the appropriate test in my fishing and I am going to use the penn 515 mag 4 baitcasting reel

@@djrmonix In my city there is a small selection of "surf cast" and "beach cast" rods, so I am ready to consider the option of purchasing a suitable rod from you. Do you have a "beginner rod" that you are tired of and would like to recommend?
