Boeing lost over four billion dollars in the back end of 2024 following strike action and many other related issues. Now, 2025 must-see substantial improvement to ensure Boeing's future has some bright patches ahead.

Let's hope so. But, Boeing must really find a new short to mid-range Aircraft design. The refurbishment of the old Boeing 737 is a total disaster. It's really bad idea to rely on an old Aircraft design and stick into it larger engines and extending the fuselage and use computer aided stabilisation to counteract imbalances that they make to the plane. Boeing is just too cheap to invest into a new plane design that'll replace the 737 and go through the many hoops to pass the multiple steps and process into getting International flight certification that'll take years to get it pass. That's why they stuck to the already flight certified 737.

it will be 10 years late when most airlines receive it! That is nearly a whole aircraft generation late, they could have greenfielded an entirely new design in that time. So many sales lost I don't know if it will ever make money for the manufacturer. Time will tell.

Bad news to passengers too. The airlines will increase fares to recoup their costs one way or another. This is going to be interesting since refurbishing the interior of the said planes might also incur tariffs which will be passed to passengers too. Its going to be messy.
@Luke-GO
@Luke-GO 6 күн бұрын
@@mandandi US-Americans voted for tariffs, they can also pay for more inflation (it's their choice). International airlines have safety nets to avoid these tariffs (similar to Delta's CSerie purchase). This would also be a great opportunity for Ryanair to order A220s - an airline where Boeing will have to pay for any extra tariffs.

Airlines that have ordered the Boeing 777X have refused to cancel the order for the aircraft in favor of the already certified Airbus A350-1000 XWB because they are confident that the aircraft will soon be certified and enter service, so they think that it is worth waiting for the aircraft.

Some airlines that have decided to replace their aging Boeing 777-300ERs with 777Xs, including Cathay Pacific (CX), All Nippon Airways (NH), Emirates (EK), and British Airways (BA), have already decided to refurbish their fleets of the former with new cabins to address the delays in certification and entering into service of the latter.

Which is smart on their side, especially if they want more capacity(pax and cargo) but not the range of the A350K. Some airlines will have both airplanes.

@@thyip6167 I think you`re a little short of information. If you take the time to look at A350-1000 orders you`ll see that airlines are replacing B777300-ER`s with that type. Sure you`re correct some airlines at the premium end are doing it with B777X, but in the main AB have hit the sweet-spot with most airlines who want super economy, large cabin, keen purchase price all in a well proven package. No need to suggest the opposite because you like a particular aircraft, A350-1000 is doing very well in the market & hopefully the B777X will do the same.

Boeing desperately needs a replacement for the 737. Embraer, with its C-390 Millennium military transport, has shown that it has the capability and know-how to make an airplane of such size and/or make one in partnership with another firm, yet Boeing STILL seems like it will not consider a joint venture of sorts to produce such an airplane! At some point, Boeing needs to come up with a replacement one way or another. Not to mention the 777X issues mentioned in this video.

no, the program won't be cancelled and the orders most certainly also won't be. For two reasons: 1) There isn't an alternative to the 777-9, 2) contracts include clauses for delays, so Boeing has to compensate their customers for every delay that occured after the contract was made. That' means especially the early customers that have been on the orderbook since 2013 will get their planes really, really cheap. So cancelling would be stupid

Fact remains that the 777X is a disaster. Constant delays and issues and Emirates have been vocal about ditching their order because of delays. If the 777 is delayed again then it could see its biggest customer jump ship. The Max - well what can one say, what a truly awful piece of kit. Rushed due to A320neo and never fully certified by the FAA, so Boeing paying the ultimate price in putting out two awful aircraft in 737 & 787 (both had huge groundings) and their flagship wide body still not off the ground!
@nickolliver3021
@nickolliver3021 6 күн бұрын
Incorrect. The 777x does not remain a disaster if many factors have stopped it from getting certified. There have not been many issues but the majority are delays and pushbacks. Emirates have been vocal about cancelling all orders if there was a delay yet wanted to have words with Kelly Ortberg from the recent thrust link issue (now fixed). The biggest customer wont jump ship if there is another delay. Boeing cant afford another delay and this jet is needed for the industry to grow. The MAX is not one truly awful piece of kit. A320neo was rushed without a clean sheet. The 787 had its small grounding due to battery fires which have had no issues since fix. So They did not put two awful aircraft 737 and 787 and flagship widebody into the market. If the flagship is still not off the ground then go tell Boeing to make it does overnight!

Emirates are between a rock and a hard place. They cannot cancel their B777X order, because they have nothing to replace it with. Had they ordered the A350-1000 years ago, then it might have been a substitute, but they didn't know then that the B777X development would be a bad luck albatross. Unless there is another enormous problem, the 'X' will arrive before the -1000 ever could. Their 777-300 fleet is pretty young, and they have the A380..........

@joeking22 6 күн бұрын
@@nickolliver3021 In January 2013, the U.S. FAA grounded all 787s until it approved the revised battery design in April 2013. Significant quality control issues from 2019 onward caused a production slowdown and, from January 2021 until August 2022, an almost total cessation of deliveries. The Boeing 737 MAX passenger airliner was grounded worldwide between March 2019 and December 2020, and again in 2024. The 777X has been delayed for 5 years and still not certified. Stop kidding yourself Nick, Boeing are a basketcase.
