Delta has made a great choice with the A350-1000 and its transition to an all Airbus fleet would be even better for the Airline

The -1000 is the ideal plane for Delta as not only does it have the advantage of fleet and crew commonality, the competition is massively underperforming, especially on production quality and safety. Even though the Trent XWB-97 engines on the A350-1000 have some drawbacks, I'm guessing that Rolls Royce would have resolved most of the issues by 2026.

@@thecockerel86 But I was TRULY SHOCKED when ESPECIALLY Delta ordered the -1000, because they did not have the 777-300ER, because they also considered the 300ER too big for their fleet, so they stuck with their “SECOND LARGEST” (or now largest) planes in their fleet to be the same size as their 777-200s, no larger than that. And the A350-900s are basically the same size as the 777-200s, and was their flagship plane before this larger A350-1000. And remember these jets will come built in NPS spec (new production standards) too so the MTOW and performance will be better than current operational a35k’s too! I’m also curious to see what routes will utilize these jets and they should also paint one in Skyteam livery as well being the new flagship plane!👍🏼😊

Good for Delta. They already dumped their 777s in favor of the A350 so the order isn't that much of a surprise. Especially since the 777X seems to be having the same launch problems as the dreamliner and MAX

@jameswikstrom417410 ай бұрын
I think the decision by Delta to purchase the A350-1000 is a prudent decision since the aircraft will compliment their existing fleet of A350-900s. Boeing has little to offer Delta. The 777X is taking too long to come to market when airlines need new aircraft to accommodate their route structure and to replace their aging fleet. Great choice by Delta to ensure fleet commonality.

I’m almost positive delta will buy the a330-800 to replace there aging a330-200s since there not going to be looking at Boeing for the 787 so I’m pretty exited to see those come as well since there’s only very few on operation and none in the U.S.
@ryanthomas88711 ай бұрын
I’ve thought that but the 900 gets the same fuel burn per mile and Delta’s longest range routes typically can fill the 350 capacity. The 800 really is a good fit for smaller market hub routes that require considerable range. Hence why it works for Kuwait Air and Greenland Air. The 800 really only makes sense if Delta upped its international routes out of SLC. The airport has been rebuilt to handle that but the demand for the longer range routes isn’t there. SLC to HND, ICN, FCO, TLV, PVG, DXB, BOM, etc would be ideal routes if they had the requisite passenger demand but they don’t.

Delta ordered more Airbus aircraft! Shocked, I tell you, I'm shocked!!! ;) Yeah, Delta was moving toward Airbus under Richard Anderson so no big surprise. And with Boeing having problems with the 737MAX, 787, a little bit with the 777X, and not having the NMA available, I really don't blame Delta or any airline that goes to Airbus!! Boeing has kinda done it to themselves!

Have you watch the news. The b737 max grounding for two years due to software issue. The halted production of b787 for two years due to design and manufacturing problem. The current grounding of b737max9 in US due to poor quality control. Airbus don’t have these issue. And their production rate is high, so why would airlines take a long queue for Boeing planes, at a higher price, while don’t know when they will get a plane, and what quality the plane will be.@@nickolliver3021

NEVER FLY DELTA. I missed first three days of 14-day October 2024 cruise because Delta arrived late in Athens from JFK. Delta representative responded "As much as I would like to assist, I regrettably can not honor (sic) your request for reimbursement of unexpected expenses. Although we take full responsibility of the delay, Delta's obligation is to get you to your destination which was completed." Reimbursed me $0.00 of the $3,100+ expenses we incurred. CEO Bastian's annual salary equates to $9,000 per worked hour.

Delta is still a BIG NO NO. If you fly in or out of Copenhagen, Denmark it is an old Boeing 767 about 25 years old. If I should fly Delta, I would be so excited if they will fly to Copenhagen in the A350-1000

They are not disappointed in the least bit. They have 27 in service and 12 more to be delivered. The 767-300 need to be temporarily replaced with 767-400 and 330-200s until Delta figures out the solution.
