Everyone remembers Count Duckula... Seeing as he had Marvel comics, they need to make him part of the MCU

Well, Howard the Duck is also a Marvel character. but he's only a brief cameo character in the MCU and that's probably for the best. Count Duckula would be a more interesting character however. I mean, if Danger Mouse can get a reboot on Netflix, why not give Duckula a comeback?

Oh, god... I do remember Bravestarr. Space and cowboys were two of the coolest things ever back then. As well as ninjas and pirates and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Filmation hit this series HARD. It was easily their best animation and design out of all their series. Sure, it still had stock footage, rotoscoping, and lots of close ups, but just overall, a great presentation. Plus, they really managed to get away with some very sharp writing. An anti-drug episode that wasn't afraid to have a kid OD, a Christmas Carol episode that was basically character development for one of the main villains. I was pleasantly surprised by the series since I've discovered it. Though it wasn't the project that shuttered Filmation, that would be the AWFUL "Happily Ever After" Snow White movie.

I definitely rank it higher. I never saw MOTU when I was a kid and I only saw a couple episodes of Bravestarr but wasn't impressed. Then I watched Fiction Addiction's review of the pilot movie and thought it was worth checking out. I loved it and the 5 bonus "best of" episodes they included with it enough to buy the whole series. MOTU still ahs its moments, but the 2003 version is the best and is what really got me into the franchise.

@mightyfilm Actually the Snow White movie isn’t what doomed the studio. It was the Pinocchio movie and how badly that thing flopped. I personally think the Snow White movie is a passable movie with a slightly better plot and better voice acting and songs than Pinocchio. I mean having the princess in a fairy tale movie is a rather interesting concept that you rarely see in any type of media. This is why it is always so interesting when Princess Peach actually becomes a playable character in any Mario game and gets to help save the day for once. Pinocchio was basically the same story all over again with only a few changes and substitutions and Twinkle who was extremely meh for being called “the most beautiful puppet in the world.”

I seem to recall Ed the Duck eventually got his own cartoon series. But he started out as a puppet, so technically he's not a cartoon character.

Honestly can’t tell if the mispronunciation of Igor in the Duckula section and the constant R after Bravestarr are bits or if you’re really unsure how to pronounce. If it’s a genuine error, the intro to Bravestarr even gives you a hint 😜

Here is an obscure one for you - Dino City! I saw the SNES game in stores and saw one poster of the movie, but it was never brought to Hungary, or most of Europe. Even today, crappy VHSrips of it is all that we have. They did make a surprisingly complex platformer on this obscure weird little movie about time-travelling kids helping out anthro dinosaurs against evil cavemen, though. I gotta hand it to you, I have seen Muzzy in Gondoland but Bangers and Mash? Never heard of it! More obscure than even Avenger Penguins. I did know the others - in fact, Bravestarr is kinda pretty well known among MOTU and Filmation fans, being built on the same formula but perfected. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes I still remember to this day, ironically, only saw the movies well after the show. And Count Duckula had a brief return to fame in the new Danger Mouse show recently.

I had a Bravestwarr figure and I remember that long after I lost all of his accessories he dominated my action figure fighting league with only a Thor-like Super Naturals figure and one of the heroes from inhumanoids serving as rivals at the top.

I remember Count Duckula! I also thought I made him up because when I described him to anyone else around my same age, they looked at me as if I was making it up. I also thought he was a Disney character from Darkwing Duck. Edit: I remember Bravestarr (didn't remember the name) and I swear I liked it too. OOOOh! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERED ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES! Really, really loved that cartoon.

I do remember a good few lesser known cartoons from my youth, such as The Poddington Peas, Twinkle The Dream Being, Ovide and The Gang, Rubbish King of The Jumble and Astro Farm, but there are some cartoons I only know of because they were made into games, such as Widget The World Watcher, Maya The Bee, Family Dog and The Ottifants!

I've never noticed that George Clooney was on the Attack of the killing tomatoes... They used to air it on cable tv since the license was possibly really cheap. We used to get a lot of these b rated shows on cable back in the 80's/90's because of how cheap they were. Ketchup Vampires anyone? Also, Danger Mouse was awesome!!! Years later I found out it was a kid's version of Danger Man with Patrick McGoohan

Bravestarr was a genuinely good show for the time. Arguably Filmation's best. Even if it was made to be a toy commercial, Lou Scheimer's crew created a fantastic world and gave the characters tons of personality. Duckula was the GOAT as well. Like Dangermouse it was silly enough for the kids but with enough subtle, well written dialogue sprinkled in to keep adults entertained as well.

When I was a child I was a huge fan of a TV-cartoon called "Captain N: The Game Master" - it's the opposite... a bunch of video games turned into a single cartoon. Some kid (and his dog too!) are sucked into his TV into a world called Videoland and has to fight all kinds of fun enemies like Mother Brain, Eggplant Wizard, and so on. His allies are Game Boy, Simon Belmont, Kid Icarus, some princess, and other notable game heroes.

I caught just a single episode of Bravestarr on a TV channel that showed old series (that Ghostbusters series then followed right after it) several years ago but it definitely was memorable enough. And I really liked Count Duckula but didn't really have a chance to watch it all too often.
