I'm new to the scene and I am absolutely obsessed with drum machines, mixers, etc cause I only spin with just a Numark Mixtrack controller and I guess I just lose sight of what it means to be a DJ. Since as a DJ you always stick to effects you use most often. Other thing - I don't think that touchscreen should be used for some menus etc. Perhaps for effect controlling through that Grid (KaossPad style) but too much colorful graphics on FX unit turned me away from DN-X1700. You should focus more on readability during daylight and add some mode to mixer settings to switch between day/night mode since some off us play also outdoors and your DJM 700/800 line is barely readable during daytime

I have this mixer. Its great u can controll vdj with so u dont even need a set of decks. The fx are good but it can be differcult using them all at once :-( I resently used a 850 and think that the 850 is more intuative for the fx. I would like to see a new mixer which has all the fx on that the 850, 900 and 2000 has using the 900's pad. I.e. Make the mixer program able so u can set it up to your style? Pioneer please do anyother update, im begging you please the white noise is just so loud?

depends on what you want/are willing to spend...there are definitely much better mixers out now but the fx control on this is pretty elite and some djs love using fx, that being said the fx control on the pioneer v-10 is superior but also will cost about 2k more

yeeeeh! I'd like this to my CDJ-2000, change this with the DJM-800. I'm currently using MixVibes Cross 1.3.2. Tho, this would be the ultimate for every DJ, but especially for Daft Punk since you'd need at least 4 arms for this! =)

What ever happened to just playing a song the way it is? Now it's all about EQ faders and slicers roll robot phase shift exploding kittens crossverb with variable settings to squeeze every once of technology into each mix. As a listener, I can't tell if it's the DJ doing it or that's just how the song sounds? This mixer is the equivalent to one of those baby activity centers.

OMG I..WANT...THIS but i'll never ever ever ever have enough money to buy this! and besides, if u have this mixer at home, but when u play at clubs they got another mixer... and u have to use theirs. that will lower ur standards! there are many things that u can do on this mixer that u cant do on a basic one used at clubs, trust me!!

I don't think DJs need this complicated DJ Mixer. If I'd really want as a DJ for future, it would be some easily programmable Mixer - something I could program (preset) - then store this program on USB and then use it on another Pioneer mixer. Preset could consist of some VST plugin + controller setup (something like when you programm your Korg controller + you could transfer these settings easily to other device, otherwise this looses sense). These new effects are just overhead
