I’m African American and I play a lot of progressive and the fact that this music was birthed by African Americans amazes me. It is extremely tribal in its essence. Richie Hawtin interviews tell of a scene in Detroit and in Canada of this unbelievable black community of Dj’s and producers and club owners that is so cool.
