Dude....You are the best teacher.This is by far the best tutorial I have seen that really simplifies MIDI . I was was literally intimidate by mappping. I have scratch pro 2 and I purchased a DJ Tech CTRL unit...you helped me get going. Still struggling trying to set the loops (Ins/Outs/Increase/Decrease). But I'll figure it out. Thanks.

Hi Ean, I love your tutorials - keep up the good work! One particular thing which I cant get to work properly, is mapping the adjustment button for moving the "loop in"-point backwards instead of moving the "loop out"-point forward, when shortening a loop. I do know how to do this by mouse/keyboard (thanks, TractorBible!), but I can't map it the way I like it to in Traktor's settings - as the "learn"-button only works if you know the correct command you would like to map*. So what I like to happen when I turn the "Loop-length"-knob (preferably incl. pressing shift**) is: Set "Move-mode" to "Loop in" Set "Move-length" to "Loop" (ie - not a specific value; which would be the alternative in this menu) and then have the "Move Backwards/Move Forwards" buttons mapped to the "Loop-length"-knob (preferably incl. pressing shift**) I would like to send you a screenshot; but can not attach it here. This way, I would be able to shorten a loop which is right before the drop towards the drop - and when I release the loop, the drop would follow immediately after. Currently, when I shorten loop which is right before a drop, the entire is played loop is played before the drop kicks in. Using Traktor S3MK3, Traktor DJ Pro 3. *is there a way to hit "learn" - and then adjust the values in Traktor - then see what the name for that specific command is ? **having to press shift would mean that I do not lose the original functionality of the "Loop-length"-knob

Hi Ean, I'm new to this mapping and need to learn it quickly as I received an awesome Christmas gift of a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 controller. The trouble is it doesnt operate my Traktor 2.5 (yes I know I need to upgrade my system, I have an old 2006 iMac running OSX 10.6.8 but cant afford to do it just yet). The long and short of this is, I have limited time to return said controller for refund and I would like to know how compatible my version of Traktor software is with this new controller, should I invest the time to map if compatible. Hello!! How do I know which channel, which note to output the level meter signal?? If there is a button to push. I can easily know that what channel & what note I’m pressing. But how do I know it when there is no actual button to push? Like the level meter on my Novation Twitch controller It require midi out to light it up..but how do I know where to send the signal😂

Having a little trouble. Trying to map the #3 effect channel on my S2 to the same knobs for #1 but with the "shift" button on my S2 held down. But whenever I turn the know after telling it to learn it erases the shift part. essentially making me unable to add more Shift+ features on my S2. any way around this?

Hey Ean, Awesome vids keep them coming man. I was thinking about mapping a logitech joystick to Traktor to control some effects, but I'm not sure if its possible. The joystick is the Logitech Attack 3. Do you know if theres any circumstances where a USB control (like the Attack 3) wouldn't work with Midipipe? For example, I tried using Midipipe to map a Xbox 360 Controller to practice mapping, but I don't see the hardware showing up in the Midi Input section.

DJ Solution It probably is not a MIDI device, but rather a HID device. You could try www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/

I try to map the hercules rmx 2 controller to traktor but if i map a knob it is jumping from 0 to 100% all the time if i just touch the knob. Any ideas?

Hi! I've downloaded a tsi file that maps traktor to pioneer ddj sx 3 but the button to pre listen to channels is not working.What should I do?I can only listen when I set my controller to listen to the master channel.

Hey Ean ! I was wondering if it is possible to map another midi controller along x1 to use both of them at the same time.. For example use the x1 for the basic traktor's functions' and a controller with pads to use the remix deck. Could it be possible? Thanks!

It's really easy. What you need to do is not turn off the in ports for both mappings and they'll work simultaneously :)
