They can say whatever they want... But doing it is another thing. They've said it many times before so I'll believe it when I see it.

And that's what they need some young legs that want to play and compete. Will it happen, I don't know, but bring on the hustle. Thank you DK, Oh yea.

Couldn’t agree more DK. Koivunen, specifically, is the name that came to mind when I asked the question. Hopefully Sully sees it our way. It’s so odd, because when he first got the job, his was billed as a developer of young talent in our farm system. We could use that sully now.

Might as well bring back jarry if ur not going to play the younger guy...i like sully..but he hes not playing the uounger guys..hes not on my fav list right now

Bro i love your show BUT we have heard this before and all its doing is delaying what we all know. This team is in massive need for youth and talent.

Wanting something and actually having the ability to do it are two different things. I’m glad they aren’t playing like they did during that stretch in Early December when they were playing like they didn’t care. But with that said, they don’t have what it takes. Anaheim, San Jose, Seattle, Utah was the 8 points they should have taken if they had it but they don’t. So at this point it’s all lips service from them.

Sully would only play those prospects for 4 minutes a night on the 4th line. Is that worth it? As much as I would like to watch them play for the penguins, I don't see the room in the line up until we lose some contracts.
@TerryMccarthy-s3r2 күн бұрын
DK, do you believe this coaching staff and roster are capable of changing how they play? This team simply can't compete by trying to play fire wagon, north south fast hockey. They can be successful if they change to an emphasis on defense and stop with the constant pinching. This can work, but the mindset has to change collectively instead of we want to win and play like it's still 2017.

God, no, don't start playing desperate hockey NOW just to miss the playoffs by 1 point again. Ned's save % is only .896. If it's his net, that's just bananas.
@dhunter1133Күн бұрын
The difference is that Sullivan had personally coached the Black Aces back in 2016 and trusted them. He doesn't trust anyone in the AHL any longer.
@daleemlet36932 күн бұрын
They barely win one game against a crappy team and all the sudden there's all kinds of Hope in the desperation? And now things are going to be different? They say the same crap after every game then they go out and crap the bed again and again. I've said it how many times, you can't trust them
@joshuamalezi1547Күн бұрын
They have no credibility at this point. Why weren't they desperate during those losses to bad teams? Completely gutless performances for most of those games. Those points are just important as any points they can get in the future. Now they are going to flip a switch and "play the right way" and start winning most of their games? I hope they do, but don't think they will.
@NoHurriesNoWorriesКүн бұрын
They were desperate. They just dont have the talent to win.

I hope you guys are happy. I see the reasoning for the Vancouver trade as an excuse because the Pens don't think they can re-sign expiring contracts. This may be a step towards rebuilding the team, but it is also an erosion of the current team. I don't care if we lose value by not being able to re-sign a player. I think trades are one of the reasons we don't bring new guys up. This is a curse ever since we lost Jagr.
@adamegan8384Күн бұрын
Maybe, just maybe, if GMKD is smart, and I think he is, the team is at the point that they trade EVERYONE that they can and just keep loading up on picks, prospects, young NHL ready players, and then we can see in a few years, hopefully, Sid lead the young team to a playoff birth.
@SiimViisutКүн бұрын
I think , if you wants to rebuild or make restart, you have to "clean" house 90%. It mean you have to replace head coaches, older core players. Maybe Crosby have stay while, let he more be advisor. Now all younger players " burn" under Sullivan and core veterans players. They dont open like that. Koivunen, McRority, Panomarov, JP, St Ivan, Pickering, Blomqvist, Poulin and so on

I don't mind the Pens close to NHL ready prosects staying in the AHL longer because of how good Wilkes Barre has been playing. I'd rather them continue to build chemistry and learn how to win together in that environment. Although, I would not mind seeing guys like Koivunen, Ponomarev or Mcgroarty get a cup of coffee at the NHL level at the end of the season.

I love the optimism here DK, I really do. But this team isn’t going anywhere. 14 regulation wins in 53 games. Just a tick above .250 when it comes to winning a game in 60 minutes. Only the Sharks have fewer wins in regulation. Also, the pens have the 3rd worst goal differential in all of hockey. Without absolutely stellar goaltending from Ned 2 nights ago we’re talking about a team that would have lost 4 in a row to clear non contenders. I love the pens as much as you do but I think we need to be realistic with ourselves. They’re very, very bad.

I'm so tired of wasting roster space on players and lines that pose no threat to our opposition. You have to be a threat. If you're not going to score then you have to punish and wear down the opponent. Do our 3rd or 4th lines pose any threat? Hell does our 2nd line? But because they occasional block a shot or kill a penalty, we keep them around? That stubborn old school mentality has to change. Speaking as a stubborn old school fan.

Good morning, DK. YES, I completely agree with you about a kid or two being brought up who deserve to be brought up!!! The two who you just mentioned DO deserve the chance, and yes, they are a part of our future and need to be treated as such. Keeping them down there while they're playing NHL worthy is teaching them what exactly? As for Bloomqvist, unfortunately, he hasn't gotten into more games yet, but as long as he's around this intensity, he is picking up on things Pens fans, don't worry about that. Whatever happens these next 4 will completely change what he sees as ice time, what happeneds with players being traded, etc and he will get his games in too. In Bloom We Trust lol Thanks DK, God bless you 🙏 ❤️ ✝️
