Morning DK!!! Was born in Beaver PA in 1959 but have lived in Mass. since 1973. Have loved Pittsburgh teams and their history’s. The Pirates situation makes me ill! If I was still there I’d be on Grant Street no doubt!!!! This has to change! I just remember the chants to fire Canada. How about doing the same thing if nothing changes in 2025 only this chant should be SELL THE TEAM!!!! Can you picture the first home game, sold out, with the entire crowd chanting that throughout the game. Bet that would generate some headlines!

Detroit made the playoffs, won the first playoff game of their series and sold at the trade deadline and went with their system while BC claimed the Pirates could do the same and yet did nothing remotely like that. Ironically if the second half Tigers had the Pirates pitching they would probably have a legitimate chance to win the WS, lol.

I think nutting must be more comfortable with the status quo. No extra pressure, a good old boys club all patting each other on the back, just run the business from a distance and if it's profitable it's a success.

Attendance was the highest this year since 2017, a significant number of people are not going to stop going to the games especially when Skenes pitches especially if they get off to another good start like the last 2 years and have a decent record most of the season. There's about as much chance of forcing Nutting to sell as there is of Trump admitting he lost the election, ZERO. Remember the picture Nutting took with a fan who was wearing a shirt that said sell the team. He had a big smile, he's not going to sell. A protest on Federal St might get them to fire everyone and get more competitive and I would join the protest if I didn't live 200 miles away, but get him to sell, no chance.

DK, my protest is to not support this franchise financially. Don't buy their stuff, don't go to their games. Catch them on at the bar. Ultimately, that's the only protest that matters for me. Not spending my entertainment dollars to enrich a team that doesn't even pretend to want to compete. You can call it apathy. I call it 30+ seasons of losing in a row with barely a blip of competitiveness on the radar.

Exactly. I live out of state so the Pirates are unfortunetly (or fortunetly) out of site out of mind for me by the end of June. If it wasnt for Skenes not sure I would have watched a single game on TV. I dont see how an empty stadium every night doesn't make an impact. Fans cant waint until late July Agust to start that if they are empty from day one and no one shows up for bobble heads t-shirts and fireworks there is no way that goes un-noticed by the team, media and MLB.

@@kelseywhitlatch173 We're fans. Not workers. Our interest drives our spending drives their profits. We're not being paid by the teams to "work" for them in any capacity. It's us who pay them. When this team has been competitive, the fans have came out and spent. It's never going to be NY or LA levels. But rolling losing teams out on the field and then pretending it's the job of the fans to do something about it is asinine. Sometimes I think DK is too much in his sports-cover bubble and forgets how regular fans out here view sports.

i think we all know what Ben is trying to do with thses ridiculous firings he is just scape goating everyone he can even though he is the one to blame. he is a terrible gm and Nutjob needs to fire him even though the next guy won't be any better because it will be the same thing all over again. another tear down and rebuild and more lies to the fans. Ben lost my trust when he quoted the same lie hat every gm that came before him over the past 30 years we are building something sustainable for the future and the sad part is he was right he losing is sustainable. i believed that lie the first few times i've heard it but when you hear it by every gm since and nothing happens eventually you stop believing it.
