i have a suggestion. I love how you write key facts on the white board. I was trying to get a picture of the board but i couldn't get a clear shot since you don't move much (thats OK) It would be great if you could turn all that info into a word Document and we can download it or give the board a moment alone and then you walk up to it in the beginning so we can take a pic have it s a reference in my phone all the time! ! thanks for your videos
@RegisteredNurseRN7 жыл бұрын
Hello :) Thank you very much for the great suggestions and for watching my videos. Regarding the word document idea, for every review lecture I have created typed out notes for you all to print out. I don't know if you knew about that or not. Here are the notes for this lecture: www.registerednursern.com/dka-and-hhs-hhns-nursing/ You can find the link to the notes for that particular video by going to each video's description which will contain the link. I usually have it written as:" Notes: (link)" The link to the notes are always there and/or will be pinned as the top comment in the comment section. It will take you to my website where you can print them. I hope that helps, and again thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. Best wishes in your studies :)

Sarah, is there any differences in mental status change between DKA and HHNS? Many thanks from VA!
@RegisteredNurseRN8 жыл бұрын
Hello to you in VA :) Neuro changes with HHNS tend to be more severe due to the extreme dehydration associated with HHNS but DKA can be just as bad. In HHNS, you may see focal changes which is not limited to depressed deep tendon reflexes and inability to move extremities which can progress to coma/seizures. In DKA, the patient may exhibit confusion. However, if acidosis with DKA progresses the patient can enter in coma or experience cerebral edema, seizures etc. So, it depends on how bad they have each condition to determine how bad the neuro changes will be. I hope that helps :)
