It was Kim Eana who also wrote Good Day lyrics for IU but what IU did that is so special is that she is able grasp the concept of the prequel so well and write lyrics for the two songs which make sense showing coherency and deep messages present in the everyday world. Undoubtedly, Kim Eana was able to create a perfect outline for an actual sequel to the song and IU flawlessly execute in a manner satisfied by me and other Uaena.

Aside from how the three songs are connected, I feel that blueming is very interesting because it is telling the story behind flirting over texting, which happens a lot in today's society. How it is thrilling and fun and giving us all kinds of emotion. It is amazing how she could tell it through many metaphors that we didn't even think about before. Like how grey and blue is a chat balloon, at first I thought she was just picking random color but it is actually very meaningful. Also like how she is feeling sad when she checks that her 'box' is empty, suddenly there are blue roses blooming in her garden, really pictures out how we often got upset when our texts got ignored, but how easy it is for us to get all happy again over multiple texts reply. And also the conversation at the beginning, how she is quickly getting up from bed after receiving a text. It is fun to watch because I did that often ahahah. If old love songs tell stories about how love progresses through letters, fancy dates etc, I love how IU brought out online love theme, it hits me hard because once I understand what it means it does really relatable to nowadays society. She is INDEED a genius.

Thank you for the interesting interpretation of IU 3 MVs. Just a few general personal thoughts after watching the video. If we are talking about the connection of the MVs, i believe that blueming is not connected to above the time or you & i. As IU mention, above the time is the continuation of you & i based on the 2 main character love story. She felt that they needed an ending and the date 31th dec 2019 was her inspiration. Blueming is a separate MV with different theme. If we are talking about the connection of her lyrics between the 2 songs, than we need to talk about her whole album. The 6 songs lyrics are connected to each other based on the theme love. I think this would give more justice to her ability as a lyricist.

I Agree, IU album always have a connection from each song. Since the first Album She produced. Chat Shire (it's all about her, the song about being 23, her grandma/glasses, Red Queen/Sulli, Knee/her perspective about the book she love, etch its personal), Palate (Humanity feeling). I think Above time was made to be related to You and I, but Blueming was totally unrelated... Blueming is just about two people who like each other texting. At the beginning the shaking is just a way to represent the mobile phone buzzing indicating that a message has arrived and she wakes up and goes to the mail box to check (like we do with our phones). And I have read that it’s blue and gray because of the colors of the messages on iMessage (blue is the sender and gray the other person). And all the lyrics are about texting and that anticipation feeling so it’s not related to the other songs at all... she just wanted to release a ballad and an upbeat song that more people would like.

DKDKTV don’t you think this song could be that she died and is talking about meeting him again in the afterlife or in another life ? She could be waiting for him to die too and meet her in between (like in hotel del Luna). And maybe he went to the rooftop in the cold weather to die and fantasied about meeting her again in this wonderful place which is the afterlife, but he was not able to die and the clock was gone because he forgot about her and she was able to climb the ladder to “heaven” because of that. But the blue rose could mean that she was marking him to recognize him in another life (which could be blueming because they met again and are getting to know each other from the start).

omg i finally understand why IU giggles like there is some inside joke EVERYTIME she says Blueming is a "spring" song. It is NOT just a spring song!! It is a song that bring FEELINGS of spring in the form of new beginnings after long suffering...They can now finally be together and she has merged together the meaning and feeling so well ..ahmaigaaaahh i CAN'T with this tiny genius!!! You and I lyrics was written by Kim Eeana not IU, and Kim Eeana felt sorry cause she made story like make IU being so lonely in You and I. Now Above The Time, IU is the lyricist, she said that it's really hard to make lyrics Above The Time. And I think You and I and Above The Time aren't story about her. But I am agree about your explanation about Blooming but I don't know sure if the story is based on her personal life cause the storyline can be happened to anyone, and the process of falling in love always start from sending messages to each other. I think IU really smart and witty lyricist. She know how to make us curious about the story that she want to said in every song. And her words are beautiful. One of best lyricist 💙

Just my theory about Blueming..in my opinion recently on Lee Joon Gi's bday IU called him and during their conversation Joon Gi said that IU likes to send a text message with a lot of emoticons same as Joon Gi seems that they are competing who is the best texter..Joon Gi told IU that everytime she releases an Album oppa always texted IU and complementing about the songs and even cheering her up.They have been close friends since Moonlovers and they seem really close up until now..coz they are always present whenever they need each other.

And theory about other songs..In 2017 both broke up with their perspective partners..in this industry esp in Korea it is not good to see people dating after break ups..and to think rumored about breakups was about joon gi and Iu being together..but ofcourse they both denied..I think IU is just waiting for the perfect time to announce their relationships..and to think she was talking about matured man..lee joon gi is 12 years older than her.. Everything was suspect between them towards the end of last year, being in 3 separate locations at the same time, his release of Ending Scene (23/1/19) which was 2 years after her break up (23/1/17). i think at the end of blueming, when the blue roses bloom it gives her motivation as the impossible, blue roses blooming / growing in nature has happened.
