Yup my local game store has been selling so many games close to DKOldies prices I had to stop supporting them. Had my nightmare experience with scam-oldies, they only care about getting money, the most amount out of everything they sale and take no actual care or time in the items they claim. I took the risk last year and ended up with an og Xbox controller that arrived with jacked up analog sticks from them shoving it along with 4 other games in a small jiffy mailer, and the response from their customer service was a fucking joke and the whole reason I counted my looses and cut my ties with them. Avoid dkoldies at all cost, there are private sellers that put more time in effort into cleaning and making sure the item works and they sell for way less than dkoldies.

Those plasmas do weigh a ton. My neighbor was all into Matrix when it first came out on DVD. He went out and bought an entirely new audio system, and he gave me his old Denon surround sound receiver. Well he got a plasma too, and he asked me to help him. I kind of felt compelled, because he also gave me a 44inch CRT television (remember this was 1999 and flat screens were the newest thing - plenty of homes still had CRTs). So I agreed to help him carry it from his truck to his living room. Yeah, I about busted my gut doing that, but he had a pretty rockin home theatre for 1999 standards. My wife and I went to their house a few times to watch movies on their plasma. I think he paid like four grand for that TV. I just bought a 72 inch (bigger than that plasma) UHD QLED Smart TV for $500 (it was on sale). :) Oh, and that Denon receiver? I still have it. It's in my workshop/man cave and it's what I use to listen to music. It's old school - no bluetooth - so I had to wire the speakers direct, but it still works. They don't make em like they used to.

Not that this changes anything about the conclusion, but the reason why the cartridge tray didn't stay down properly is actually likely due to the fact it wasn't properly slotted underneath the board. There's a little lip on the tray that needs to be carefully slotted under there. If you don't know to do that, and then put the screws in, it won't stay down, as was shown on the video. It's very easy to miss, because everything LOOKS right even if that's not done properly.

In my honest opinion, the best thing to do if possible is to support your local small business if you have a retro game shop in your area.

WRONG! Even local game stores are overpriced nowadays, unless you have someone that works with you for a better deal, you're essentially paying eBay prices.

My local retro store takes price charting and adds a good 20-40%. You’re better off being patient and sniping of eBay, Mercari, offer up, fbmp, etc.
