I purchased a New 3DS from DKOldies. I ordered a “Good Condition” 3DS but it arrived filthy and slightly scrathed up, which was obvious since it was white. After I put in new face plates and personally cleaned it, it looks fine. I just don’t get why they don’t even bother to clean their products. I don’t want to know what a “Cosmetically Flawed” one would look like

They did a KZbin short a few months back explaining the bubble wrap. They don’t tape it because in the majority of cases it’s just not needed. Plus if the bubble wrap is too tight it doesn’t work as well when absorbing bumps 👍🏻

I really enjoyed the video. I fully agree on the video and this is an example of them doing a good packaging with there package. It would be interesting for part 2 if you bought a portable console from them. No one has gotten a portable console from them yet. I also feel would be able to give a non bias review. I also feel it would worth it to pay extra for not cosmetically flawed to see if they are handling there consoles with care after the most recent tear downs.

I would say DKOldies is good for games because they resurface the discs. I would not buy consoles from them because the prices are too high

console prices are high because they do a lot of work to clean them up and often fix things to make sure they work as originally intended. I know people like complaining about getting xboxes with loud disc drives etc like its dks fault, those mfs were always just loud af!

I think the main concern is buying systems... Cartridges are fairly well kept if stored properly I would have liked to see a disc version game like a ps1 - Ps3 Xbox360

My only complaint would be having to pay extra for the manual but makes sense now that I think about you want a complete copy of the game you then you are gonna have to pay extra sadly that's basically like buying something on eBay incomplete without the manual.

So I at at the midnight release of cyberpunk 2077 and Joey from dkoldies was in line too. I had just drank about a gallon of baja blast and i was ready to leak. So i asjed joey to hold my place in line while i pee'd in a bush. Instead of staying jory was behind me asking if I 'needed help ' and winking. I ended up just going home and getting a digital copy.

I bought resident evil 4 wii and dkc2 gba from them and they were both really good condition. And re4 wii was only 10 bucks. The one time I had issues was when I bought mario world gba, where I had to blow the cart for it to work but it seems to be fine now.

I’ve never had an issue with the games they put up for sale. I’ve bought about 30 games from them for 4 different consoles and only two of them I had a problem with, both of which were replaced very easily with a quick ship back. I also ordered a PS2 Slim from them and it works but the memory card slot sometimes doesn’t read so games 👍, consoles 👎.

I ordered a retro link SNES from DK oldie brand new in the box that system with Zelda link to the past cost me a little under 300 buck and that was two years ago and I still love it the game was my favorite game as a kid. eBay and Amazon wanted 550$ for both the RETRO LINK SNES AND ZELDA LINK TO THE PAST.

DKOldies is one of the biggest players in the game, therefore they are part of the reason behind the inflated values you see. Of course they aren't singlehandedly responsible, but there's very little reason to defend them as they are doing nothing to curb or alleviate the issue.

On the Zelda game, you paid $32.99 vs $24.99 currently on ebay.. the now price is $34.99 vs their current $24.99 - this doesn't seem bad in a bubble... oh they're charging $8/$10 more, I can swallow that. But think about the % difference and at scale. "I want 10 games (at $10 more each) so I can make a new collection start for my kid. That's an extra $100. What's more, $34.99 vs $24.99 is 40% HIGHER!!! That's pretty crazy if you ask me. So instead of paying $250, someone who doesn't know better is paying $350. That's kind of insane to me. I know we're talking about a bit of a higher value game, but if it's on average 30-40% higher, there's a real problem there. They're just the ones you know because they're visible everywhere

Games are easy to resell and easier to clean than retro consoles where there's a lot more going on behind the scenes. This still doesn't let dkoldies off the hook nor would I still buy from them.

Getting games from them is okay but it's where they say the consoles are refurbished, when they are actually not sometimes. That's what they been getting picked for. Buy console with refurbished and see if it comes messed up

Honestly on the price thing I kinda have to take DK-Oldies side. You know they're reliable and you kind of pay for that guarantee that the stuff you buy works and is in good condition, compared to things like Ebay and Amazon which are independent sellers who may or may not test the games. I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure DKO has a return policy if faulty product is shipped (if they don't then that's my bad), which is also a massive plus.

I was saying in different videos that if you go into a shop called CeX (Console Exchange it's called but we call it the "Sex Shop" lol since it's pronounced that way which is funny), you would pick up a game like megaman wily wars on the Megadrive/Genesis and it would cost you neck end of £400.

Also on ebay, you do not pay return shipping unless you return an item for a frivolous reason. On Amazon, you literally have no reason to select any options that don't give you free retun shipping--they will cover it 100% of the time, even from third-party sellers. DKOldies does not cover return shipping. And PayPal eliminated their free service last year, thus it is now more cost-effective and more reasonable than before to avoid DKOldies.

DKOldies isn't bad at what they do by any means. They take great care of their products, but they WAY overcharge for them. They don't necessarily provide a BAD service, just not as good as you'd expect at the price point they ask.
